you can roll your car on a firetrailif your car is not to top heavy, and you have a smooth paddock, go apeshit.
nope not in this thread but he has in another threadjessie928 wrote:yeah but he didnt say it was a huge lifted hilux with 35" tyresgrimbo wrote:but I bet it wasn't in a huge lifted V8 Hilux on 35" tyres

you have seriously missed the whole point. i wont make a comment in regards to the bitch slap comment, because it may get out of line
how can you SERIOUSLY argue a firetrail is safer than chuking doughnutrs in a paddock???? I was chucking doughnuts in paddocks when i was 10 years old.

I'm pretty sure there are stickers on the drivers' sunvisor and also on/inside the glove box that explain EVERYTHING in regards to using High and Low range.e32 wrote:Anyhow, i am not 100% sure on the workings of a 4wd, and have a few questions, particularly regarding the different modes (2wd 4wd etc)
No way, if's it's going over during donuts you're not getting off lightly, especially with a V8 to supply the fury.jessie928 wrote:
if there was a coice on where to roll your fourby , i bet you 10 out of 10 you would want to roll it in a paddock and not half way up or down a steep decent in a rut in the mud!
Jes
200 bucks is all i would pay for a hilux anywaymacca81 wrote:jes, if we get down to the leval of "having fun", then the reason you buy a 4wd for having fun is to go 4wding. if you consider "having fun" means that you sit in a paddock doing doughies, then go out and buy a $200 falcon ute and thrash it, thats what they are made for.
hilux = 4wding
commadore/ford = doughnuts
irrespective of whether there is a risk of rolling when on a firetrail, you are usualy conscious of this and going fairly slowly anyway so will often have time to correct yourself to avoid such a roll.
if you have your foot to the floor and your wheels at full lock, the g-forces acting upon a 4wd vehicle make it very prone to rolling. and i dont care how good you are, if you start lifting wheels when going hard doinf nuts, its just dumb luck if you can correct enough to save a roll.
stop being a tool and go buy an old falcon if you wanna do nuts. its safer that way.
in responce to the origional question. take a 4wd course, read this forum heaps, go on your first few trips with expirienced 4wders, and have fun doing it!
and go hooning on your dirtbike

Nope you got it all wrongjessie928 wrote:so what, ? so your more intelligent because you dont chuck dougnuts?love_mud wrote:Getting further down the track takes some level of skill and thought hanging donuts .. well .. turn the wheel and hold it flat pretty much sums it up .. It does not mean you are getting further on the track, has no role to play other than going in a circle throwing mud.jessie928 wrote:ts amazing the hypocricy some people come up with.so Dunking your car into a bonnet full of water is ok, bashing your car onto rocks, through mud, going end over down a steep decent, flipping it going up a steep incline is cool, but chucking doughy's isnt?
Jes
driving a firetrail simply to drive it may seem silly aswell to most people, but we all do it for the fun of it. correct?
funny argument from you....
Jes
I guess it is whatever floats your boat... If going round and round in very small circles on private land is what does it for you, good for you .. most people grow out of this by about age 18.is there must be so much more involved in getting in and out of a boggole other than pointing the wheel and putting your foot flat to the floor???hanging donuts .. well .. turn the wheel and hold it flat pretty much sums it up .
going through a boghole, blocking yoru radiator, buggering yoru alternator, frigging all yoru bearings and flooding the truck....as opposed to chucking doughnuts... hmmm maybe its an intelligence thing.
you can also drive down a firetrail in your ride on, you will probably get furthur down also.
