Had the same issue in my hard top.... scared the hell out of me but no-where near as much as my passenger!!
I ended installing a Wilwood proportioning valve which made a HUGE difference. At least now when I slam on the brakes the fronts lock-up.
For $70 (i think....while back now) it a small price to pay for peace of mind.
The proportioning with the subaru cylinder on the cars I have been involved with seem to proportion very well, however, these cars run sierra front calipers on the rear, not skyline (or any other) calipers.
In fact, Greg has a proportioning valve on his and I believe he runs the valve fully open- there was no need for it.
A "normal" car will never run the same calipers front and rear, so with a normal disc/disc cylinder, there will be significantly less fluid going to the rear, so the proportioning seems to be good.
With a smaller rear caliper, it's quite possible there will be excessive rear brake force without a prop valve.
PS If you run 16" rims, consider the 2.0 vitara front brakes - they are a MUCH larger, ventilated disc and matching caliper.

Cant comment on the skyline calipers or subaru m/c . I'm running sierra calipers front & rear with a normal sierra m/c & found it was biased to the rear.
I've got the proportioning valve set at it's minimum & it seems to provide a good balance.
However, in say that I had to take into consideration the stupid amount of weight transfer that occurs when I forcefully apply the brakes.
Reading on izook the prop valve they sell starts at somthing like 70% - 30% bias not sure if they are all the same.
I think the outback I got my m/c from had discs all around but I run disc/drum.
Im going to try to get a prop valve installed Im sure that will help alot.

Im just in the process of doing this conversion atm , but when i took the subaru master cylinder off the car i forgot to see which brake line goes to the front and which goes to the back ?
So can someone confirm which line goes to which axle ?
Mines not finished yet but they are the same as the sierra ones, the hardline closest to the firewall goes to the front of the m/c and the front hardline goes to the rear of the m/c.
Buy the way I got my prop valve and I pick up the new lines tommorrow to adapt it so I,ll report how it goes.

From what Ive read (not alot ) if its 1 1/16" and has 2 outlets it should be ok.
11_evl yours is a newer zuk? I think greg said somthing about newer ones been different, but then I saw on zuwharrie that on 88.5 up?? it wont bolt on??

yes mine is the newer booster which means i needed to extend the push rod a bit more. it shouldnt matter what yr it is the brakes should work.
the pedel firmed up a bit but that could of been cus i flushed fluid.
the master bolted on no problems. it is the same master as all the pictured one (1 1/16) but the outlets are on the opposite side to std sierra ones, i had to bend the pipes
AFAIK J20 and H20 run the same brakes. The rotors will not clear 15\" rims though.
