I recently puchased an SDX 3.0 lt, 5 spd manual, 4x4 with BT Plus pack. I am having no problems getting around 9.0 lt/100km, around Melbourne or on an interstate trip. At 110kph + worst I've had is 9.5 lt/100km.

I have the freestyle cab, auto, c/w ARB canopy, roof rack, roller drawers chocka block full and I get 12ltr/100km.
Mind you I also have a bigger intercooler and an exhaust upgrade, so that probably contributes to better fuel economy as well as more power.
When it was brand new it was up at 14ltr/100km, but as it got a few miles on the clock it came down.
Still only has 1900km though, so maybe will get even better.
Fingers crossed.

Hi poppersmurf.
I have a K&N on my 3.0 ltr freestyle cab.
I also have a larger intercooler and bigger exhaust and a snorkel.
All these things contribute to more power and better fuel economy.
Haven't heard anything about blown head gaskets.

if you are having power issues and bad fuel economy and your ute is not that old! you must read my forum as I might be able to help you fix your vehicle, as your dealer won't do anything that will be of use...
I gained a 40% improvement in power and 36% increase in torque and have the dyno charts to prove it, and I keep my warrantee on the drive train !
I also kept my ARB bullbar, as dealers wanted to remove it

no chip or exhaust upgrades were needed to fix my ute
