As it was an option engine for that make model no engineers required, just as you can put a 5.0L V8 into Commodore that was a V6 as long as the respective brakes and suspension are V8 and signed off by a mechanic and the engine is of the same make/model etc.

if they are responsible for doing these inspections, then yes, it is their job to be able to verify that the right engine is installed.

no its not, its up to the person applying for registration to present all accurate information about the vehicle. Read your rego application next time you register a car.

x2 shadow. the ownus is on the owner. and if something turns to shit it will be the owner prosecuted. but i do agree, vicroads are strange, ring them up and you'll get a different answer everytime...ahh the government.

its the same with qld transport, and bunnings.

ring up any company, and the dumb arse emplyee at the other end will give you garbage information. The only way to know anything for sure is to see it in writing.
