bj, the reason they went from $190 tO $290 is the spacer is now at least twice as thick as before and there are now twice as many holes and bolts. I was just posting the price I was given from Chaos which I thought was a fair price considering other prices I'd heard of.
If you want to use IFS rotors instead of solid vented ones then I'm sure Chaos will make them for you, but be aware the reason for using the solid rotors is to maximise pad to rotor contact area.

In all due respect Nick. I can see you're a man of wisdom.
But half the fun for me is to play with mods.
The other thing was that your truck must be different tto mine cause I HAD results after doing the mods. & the ifs brakes DO fit into the mounting bolts.
Can you tell me how many rotors toyota make for luxes & 4runners....I was surprised when I saw 4 different ones just sitting on a bench.
I needed to find out things for myself be it expensive & time consuming or not. Thats not the concern here.
So it goes to show that none of us know everything.....

Ive finally got round to taking a pic of our wide track kit.
it includes 2 billet spacers machined in house, all mounting hardware, consisting of grade 12.9 fine thread bolts, two new inner hub seals and two new outer hub seals.
this kit is to be used with any standard 302mm outside diameter disc (vented or solid) found on solid axle hilux/landcruiser/4runner.
all you need is a set of Toyota IFS Hubs that can be picked up from most wreckers for next to nothing, or we can supply them.
This kit effectively offsets your wheel 1.5" either side, improves handling, steering and increases the stance of your truck offroad.
we know that you can make up a cheaper spacer to utilise an ifs disc (289mm or 292mm) but this does not allow full pad contact, therefore we wouldn't recommend it.
We will be selling the first sets at $290 including everything pictured, however price may vary after this.
if anyones still confused, drop me a line, id be happy to chat further.
ill post up some pics of a customers car as soon as i get around to it.

I don't think I've ignored anything you've said or anyone else tho. I read back & I DID stipulate that I already had new rotors before I started this thread & THEN noticed by the replies that I was missinformed . I've also pretty much gone through everyone's suggestions. And a big thankyou for everyone's input.

That to me looks like a reasonable price for the kit. It's not a rediculous price like some places I know for mods. Who knows...it might end up cheaper if mass produced.
Lauchlan... I'm still waiting on these new rotors from DBA. Once I get them I'll drop them straight over.
Even though the ifs rotors are too small...they're doing ok. Got better braking than when I had the ol non-vented rotors. One BIG difference is that my claws are half as noisy & they aren't wearing with a distinct point in the center of the tread.
I'm going to Napean tonight to test it. I've also put a 3 inch body lift in for a few reasons. One was cause cplux you mentioned about the tyre rub,the other is for firewall clearance so that I can take the transfer case crossmember spacer out.

We have spent a lot of time calculating braking forces in our thesis at uni and used our knowledge from this to do some calculations on the assembly I wont bore you with all the crap but basically the only loading on the disc is rotational and the calculated braking force with a large factor of safety was no where near enough to shear any of the bolts holding the spacer and disc to the hub.
In a perfect world the spacer would have a tapered centre hole to fit snuggly along its whole length and a new lip machined at the top to accept the inside diameter of the disc but this would push the cost up even more and is unneccessary in the situation.
The spacer we make has the same id as the disc and fits snuggly on the hub at its bolting face.
I am interested in hearing anyones thoughts in this matter.

Well fellas
I went on a last minute trip to Jackson's Lane last week with this new setup.
Even though I don't have the propper diameter rotor...it still braked better. made the truck flex just that extra bit more, I had less arse drag on nose dives & tonnes more control on crappy angled drop offs.
besides the fact that I popped my tailshaft AGAIN. i felt that there was a definate difference in ability & performance.
I'm very happy...Can't wait for the propper diameter rotors to arrive. Hopefully today or tommorrow.

Does anyone else have this kit, I am going to buy a set and would like some feedback.
I have a 1985 4runner solid axle with non-vented rotors. I will be using these spacers with 1988 IFS hubs. Do I need anything else to make them work??
