Speak to your engineer BEFORE you buy anything and find out what he's happy with....I've seen almost the exact same warning on Superior stuff, it's probably pretty standard.

Hey guys!

I have just fitted a 4-5" kit to my GU Patrol.
Dobinson Flexy Coils and drop boxes.
The ride with these boxes is great! Absolutely awesome.
Flex is very good too, even with standard arms.
I will upgrade to the combinations of Superflex arm with my drop boxes.

I can send you flex pics via email if you're interested.

I'm very happy.

Fitting the drop boxes can be a bit of a pain though....

HOW COME YOU ALL SEEM TO THINK THAT $5000
IS A LOT OT SPENT ON SPRING KIT

EVEN SUPERIOR KIT WHICH DOSENT INCLUE BOTH UPPER AND LOWER REAR ARMS WILL COME CLOST TO THE MARK BY THE TIME YOU ADD THE REAR ARMS

EVEN SO I LIKE WHAT I SEE AND WILL BE FITTING THE SUPERIOR KIT

BUT WHAT OD YOU ALL THINK ABOUT EFS VS TOUGH DOG SHOCKS?

I don't think it's a lot of money, as I said it's probably pretty close to the mark, considering the Superior kit is $4,165. Add in all the hidden costs and you'll easily hit 5K. I doubt you'll get an egineer for under $700 and he'll want to see a wheel alignment and brake test, plus you'll be up for anything he tells you to change, plus any bits that break or need replacing when everything is being pulled apart.

I think you will be really happy with that setup. The TDogs seem to handle a little better due to the bore and valving. but either would be ok. Procomp have a tiny bit more travel but the valving is not quite right.

I went through the new shocks saga recently and settled on Procomps, EFS would have been choice #2, I stayed away from T/Dogs as I have heavy duty Dobinson coils but even then Tough Dogs weren't being recommended and when doing a search..well a lot of pple found other brands to be better than TD's.

After driving on both T/D's and EFS i would go EFS every time. The T/D's i had(2 sets on the 1 car ) both only lasted a year and abit before failing, not alot of wheelin on the 2nd set. plus the adjusters sieze, or worse de adjust by them selves.

Go the extra long lower control arms (they are about a metre long) and weld on some new mounts (also available from superior) rather than just replacing the standard ones with heavy duty ones. This set up should perform well on road and off but I would stick to just 4 inch coils.

Not everyone said it was a lot to spend. By the time you factor in all the little things, most kits are far more expensive than what many want to pay.

EFS are the much better option. I won't waste money on another Toughdog product again.

AND STOP SHOUTING!
