You might want to catch up with some faaaairly major changes that have been occuring on world financial markets over the last coupla weeks mate11_evl wrote:the other month i could get 6.5 gears for around $550 delivered!!! if they can match that ill place an order now
A month or two ago US$1 = AU$0.95 .... today US$1 = AU$0.69. Those US$475 6.5's + say US$80 postage and handling are now worth about AU$805 delivered, not $550.......
Don't worry, I missed the boat on 6.5's too

That is a welded diff Filling a few teeth just igves the diff a bit of free play, it also leads to the teeth riding up over the welds and tearing the internals apart.

to me a welded diff is one that has no movement in the gears.
have you done this or its what your read? not having a go just been told a few things latley that "you can't do that, it wont work" but end up fine. i'm thinking about doing this to some centers that i have till i have enough money to put the other diffs under the car

I have seen a diff that destroyed itself after being welded in the maner you describe. Just how much movement are you thinking you will get. If you fill in a few voids in the side gear, your only going to get a 1/3 of a turn of differential action before the diff locks up anyway. Why bother?
Its still a permenantly locked differential, but now it has that little bit of play and a nice ramp for the side gears to roll on and stress the carrier.

it would make it skip even worse as it would wind up and then completely release stress, then load up again. It would only last a few weeks, if that doing it the way you are wanting. It will just tear the gear apart. I have seen people do it this way and not last a week. Only way to weld is to completely weld all gears together, and to the carrier also, only thing that is going to break is the axels.
zook comming soon......
For the 1510 (no couplers) we can do them at $365 inc GST and shipping
For the 1530 (couplers) we can do them at $484 inc GST and shipping
Based on AUD/USD of 0.67c
best way would be to contact me through our site at www.locktup4x4.com.au or give me us a call on 1300 799 340 and we can get the ball rolling.
We can ship these in batches of 3, so we don't need to get heaps of people to make up the orders. As soon as we have enough to make an order of 3 units, we'll get them in the air.
We'll get them into us first and then express post direct to each customer. Allow 10 - 14 days turn around for each batch.
Cheers
Chris

Do we have 2 others here?
Just need to know a couple things first.
1) How can i tell if i need new couplers without ripping diff open?
2) I have a 90 sj70 WT. Will the locker suit front and rear?
3) What would todays prices be?
