Actually having a look around .. I dont think that you do have more flex ...
especially given the increase in track width and extra weigh that shold be pulling those 46 inch flexi flyers down .. hmmm

this is probably the best pic I have. it is not at full flex here but starts to show the 3/4 flexing

the problem i have is that the tyres are fouling on the tray but can probably get another couple of inches, basically so the drooping tyre sits about 2-3" below the body

So if I go longer springs and 3/4 that should keep everyone happy.....right!
ANd it will be staying SPUA.

I suppose if I go 3/4 I will have to use a similar length spring for the upper spring as to the lower cj pack. I think using stock rears will be too short.
This may cause a prob because of availability of the cj springs so I might have to possibly look at maybe a hilux spring and just make a shackle to fit both packs or just go with the missing link/extended shackle.
Are the hilux springs 2.5 Inches wide?.
Also what are the downsides of having a long shackle sticking out on the rear?

yes hilux ure 2.5 inch wide
no downside to havein the shackles hang out the back (mine are even with my rear bar) dont hit em much
although with u beind spring under u might hit them a bit?

Using a shorter spring for the extra quarter bit will not cause any problems - though it will have less droop than a longer spring.
