is it usless, yes, is it valuable, fuk yes, is it fun, oh yes, is why people are replying.
Ok, so it does not have er, statistics or data or shit u want on a site, build a bridge and get over it.
Sites like this are for more than just perfect anatomy of build.

Does it scare new people like amandalove44wds1989 away? yes, preventing new ideas from a fresh perspective.
Does Outers have a section called 'General Chit-Chat' for internerds to complain about other internerds? yes
if you think i am wrong then read the first thread in this forum.
Everyone agrees that sms typing is annoying but the approach that people seem to be taking is scaring the girls away.

Are we loosing potential members by "encouraging" members to post polite, researched, readable questions? Maybe.
What's the alternative? Lots more "I want my sierra 2 be full sik eh wot do I do?" posts?
If we ignore them we'll loose them anyway
We can't win either way. We welcome/ignore everyone and the board goes downhill with lots of dead end unreplied to or unreadable posts, or we demand some standards and loose them because they can't/wont confirm.
At the moment, I'm happy this conversation is confined to us on here rather than in chit-chat- it will get way off track there and we seem to pick up the least experienced members here.
In any case, I lurked on here for a very long time before I posted and learned the ways of the board before I blundered in.

I am no spelling or grammar Nazi, but a bit of care when writing a post does help the reader and potential problem solver...
Are theos roll cages on the out side of your car legal with out mod plate because i saw 2 on a landcruser and a hilux but they use them for carrying wood around but if you made it strong anoth you could use it as a cage and do they make you car use more fuel and less power.
my speedo is out by a mile can it be fix or do i have to buy a new one and where can i get one from
mq are all the diffs and motor are good dont cear what the body looks like where abouts is it swb or lwb
Those are a few unedited posts from Auszookers favourite son - There is no easy answer so I say ridicule them all the way!!!

you've missed the point entirely. It is not about bitching or whinging it is about making sure that all members get the most out of the forum. Clear communication is the key to that. No one is being fkheads except perhaps those who feel the need to get abusive and use swearing and name calling.

Without having a long winded post, I totally agree
Newbs take the time to read sit back and relax see how it all works thats what many of us did when we joined.
As to the sms talk, yeah it annoys me and I have to get kids to decipher it for me so I dont bother. I dont care if it has has bad spelling or punctuation (just read some of mine) as long as its readable.
Another thing they, why do we have to "get a life"? The forum is here for everyone to use but wouldnt it be better if we could read and understand the questions being asked?

Another way to get your point accross so it gets answered is to keep it short and not bring up too many questions all at once.
Please keep the complaints short and to the point.

Because originally Love_mud posted this to try and communicate the point to people that SMS/leet etc is not the correct way of communicating on this forum. The original post really had some merrit (IMO), but it has now gone off on a tangent and deteriated as could be expected I guess.
And yes allot of us dont read general chat, as Its just too wierd and unwelcoming...

Xtr3m H4x0r says: i t0tally pnwed u. u r so a n00b and i am so 1337!
That's leet (1337). Short for 'elite'. Nerd talk. Invented by morons who think is c00l to replace le77ers with look-alike (supposedly) numbers.

Yep what Moph Said, just replace "Nerd" with "Knob" (The second bit anyway, not sure what the first part of the post says
).
Seem to see it used to make personalised number plates 'sort of work' also; when the person could not get what they really wanted to say.

LOL first part was an example of 1337. Translates:
Extreme Hacker says: I totally pwned (owned) you . You are such a newbie and I am so elite!

A++++ on the leetspeak moph. Looks to me like you have some 1st hand knowledge there
But seriously, our mods must be watching this thread closely with a big cleaver raised and poised to lock this thread up. How about a Zuk chit-chat sticky at the top of the Zuk section so we can have this kind of discussion w/o having to put up with comments from our less sophisticated
wheeling cousins. It would also help to reduce clutter in our already extensive tech thread list.
PS. I paste all my responses into word to do a full spell and grammar check before posting. Takes 30s but seems to work for me (mostly
).

This will run its course. The older members will have had their chance to blow off steam. the newer younger members will get all upset over the so called ganging up and a few members will take notice, make an effort and become valuable contributors to the forum.

I just wish new members couldn't post for at least their first month. It might just force them to read the bible, recent threads and actually search thereby 'maybe' reducing some of the &@%# we get subjected to. I wonder if this is possible to implement?

I can't see it working as many will just go elsewhere as they can't be bothered waiting. Unfortunately there will always be nuf nufs and there will always be bad communicators around. All we can do is hang shit on them unmercifully until they cry or learn
That was a joke for the slow people up the back

but then we would also potentially miss stuff like mullets awesome first post and thread. It's a fine line between annoying, hard to read but potentially good stuff to just plain rubbish.
Maybe they need to have a checklist of stuff they must read before posting a first post

I can't see it making any difference - it's going to be like a terms and conditions page - tick "yes" and get on with posting "my m8 haz da sickest zook I want mine siker wat do I do?"
I agree to the cooling off period...
Less posts, more quality.
Steve.

Actually I think PCRman has a great suggestion -
PCRman wrote:How about a Zuk chit-chat sticky at the top of the Zuk section so we can have this kind of discussion w/o having to put up with comments from our less sophisticated wheeling cousins?
Would work for me. There IS all sorts of crap specifically related to Zooks and the Suzuki crew that doesn't belong in General Chit-Chat but also doesn't belong in a Tech forum. I'd suggest a stickied Totally Off Topic Thread for the Zook forum, let it run for a few months, see how it goes. If it doesn't work, can it. If it does, great! Basically a thread where anything goes ("Looking for xxx bit, anyone got one?", "Check out this awesome Vitara vid!", etc) so long as it's polite and within the general forum rules.

no, chit chat is for chit chat, tech is for tech. It would just spill over even more than it already does.
