I organised a group buy some time ago.
Got them through Nizzbits, may be worth trying another group buy and possibly receive better pricing.

Yea I think thats the autotron?!? one. Which from the pics at the start of this thread seem to need spacers etc to fit the VDO style gauges.
Can anyone confirm that VDO EGT and Boost gauges fit these pods without spacers ?

The Autron pillar pod looks very neat but I just have mine mounted on the dash :( Wish I'd found out about the pillar pods before hand.

For those of you with a VDO boost gauge how does the hose fit to the back of the gauge?
I have had mine sitting in the box for a few months and just got it out to fit it but the hose doesnt seem to get compressed in the back to hold it in...
Is the olive supposed to go completely inside the back of the gauge or just hard up against the chamfer?
Every other boost gauge ive had the olive compresses the hose into the gauge itself.

Thought the same when I fitted mine so spoke to VDO.
It doesn't fit all they way in, the olive compresses about half way down.

Draven wrote:I mounted my autometer gauges into pods and used the autometer mounts into the pillar , that way i could also get them to properly face the drivers seat .
They've been in there over 2 years now ( and 1 trip round aus ) and haven't budged as yet .
micka1 wrote:Hi Mate, can I ask where u managed to find autometer pyro gauges in Celcius ? Ive been trying to find some black face versions...and no one seems to be able to get them.
not sure if you're still after the black autometer pyro in a celsius version, but one of them is
http://autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.as ... 338&sid=15 you can get them through rocket in sydney, but apparently autometer build them to order so it takes a while. i also believe if you pm jet6 (a user on here, i think that's his username) he can give you prices.

I did a group buy for our 4WD club and still have a few left - 12 I think.
They are the Autron dual 52mm pod for GU (all series) in unpainted finish. Selling for $100 freighted to your door anywhere in Australia.
Send me an email via my website
www.grungle.com if interested.
I am not willing to get them painted and can't budge on price.
Pics from the one fitted in my GU series 1:

Draven wrote:Yea, id be really interested in a GU pod that houses the VDO gauges without spacers etc...
It can be done. I went to a few hose places and found a right angled stainless fitting (bend) and ground some of the bend away. Fitted one end to the guage with locktight thread sealer and fitted a nitto 6mm push fitting to the other end.
Still a tight fit when assembling but looks perfect from the outside which is what counts. I didn't put the pod over the existing trim like they suggest so removed and fitted pod directly in its place. Allows more room for decent guage tubing as well.
Those handy at fitting could make up a few brass adaptors that are low profile and 90°. I believe you would have a few buyers as well.
Sorry do not have any pics but if your motivated, you'll find out how to do it.
