Using this cost comparison, my 23l/100km (which i have done better than... but is a common number for me) on gas is equivalent to 8.28l/100km on diesel.
23 litres per 100km for a LWB GQ on gas... you are the only one getting that. Everyone else is burning more than 25 litres and usually closer to 30 litres per 100km on gas.

We all make a negative impression on the environment with our wheeling and the more we do for the environment the less hassle we will get from the powers that be bout our impact on the environment. Which means that the tracks will be open for future enthusiasts to enjoy. Please always do what you can, don't have the attitude of f*ck it, it wont directly affect me. I do what i can where i can. Gas is fitted to my 4wd
I have yet to see any decent evidence that gas is better for the environment than petrol. As for diesel, if you really think that burning 28 or so litres of gas is better for the planet than burning <10 litres of diesel then I'd like to hear why.

he read it on the interweb thingy you tool!
PS, apparently diesel is subsidised in some places in europe due to it being cleaner but they have more stringent rules on diesel than us.

The pollution from diesel (talking measurements in volume) is actually more harsh than what petrol/lpg produces, BUT due to the way diesel works, it produces far less gases, therefore being better for the environment (if you go off a measured volume).
I read that on the intermanet. (not really, i remeber it from a tv show when 888 Racing Developments released their Astra (Opel) turbo diesel performance model).

.
I usually get around 22l/100 and even 20l/100km on the freeway and not going over 100km/hr. Out bush with tyres down it goes up to around 26l/100km and once at robe when i had my foot down all day going up some dunes hit 30l/100km!!
