If you had a hoop that protected around the headlight and bonnet area .. wouldn't that have taken the load instead of the front clip ?? (thats what it looks like from the pic) As I was not there and you were I will assume you are correct ... but just this once
dont let it go to your head
My original approach on the obsticle was almost perpenticular to the bog hole - the plan was to exit the other side but it could not be performed because the front wheels didn't get to the other side due to front bar overhang. Having a stinger there may have allowed me to push forward and up a bit and hopefully get the front wheels to touch the bank infront and start climbing.
hense - a stinger would work, a front bar would make the issue worse (though less damage would be incurred)...

I was simly saying that a front bar (that came up around the bonnet and lights) would have help avaid damage to that part of the vehicle ..
Why could you not have a stinger as well as a "bull bar" kind of setup ??

i had a mate in a maverick start pushing me forward at a set of lights once, i also put it in reverse and lit it up. he stopped pushing me then
and another time i was following a mate who was in a sierra too in front of me at a macca's drive through. as he was trying to order i pushed him out of the way and made him go back through to get his order. he got pretty pissed with me, and told me i had to replace his tailgate cause it got bent. the next weekend he totalled his car at the dunes
but i didn't have to replace his tailgate

Chris, you are the man
Where did you get that photo of me in the cape? if it is you looking through my bedroom window at night, could you not leave your McDonalds wrappers in the garden please, and Jeanette finds the flash from your camera a bit distracting.

I'm not trying to start a spoa vs spua war again (Greg can do that) but it doesn't seem to be flexing much or is it just the angle of the climb not allowing it to flex.
How do like the setup with the Hilux diffs? Do you find it feels more stable? Has the added width changed the way you approach obstacles etc? Anything you still need to fiddle with or change?

yeh pics neva do an obstacle justice the ones with the wheels in the air are fairly steep and off camber (had a swb mav lifiting a wheel quite high into the air in the same spots
)
and yeh definatly is a lot more stable
dont really change the way approach the obstactes but i dont worry bout breakin any more
still gettin a bit of a vibration from the centered rear diff! from 20 to 30 km hour.
ive borred some wedges off hypolux i am goin to put under the rear to point the pinion at the tcase to see if that will help the vibes any

You will have to move the centre bolt back on
ONE of the springs also

id say it would have to move the diff back 2 holes on the drivers side
the angle isnt as bad as i thought it was goin to be.....
i should have the wedges under it by the sarvo
so i will be able to tell if it worked or not tonight
