sorry no pics. from memory i think the first attempt was at about 7 o'clock at night i dont think it was overly humid or anything so im pretty confident that it was poor preperation that was the cause of the porosity

Thanks for the link on the gas lense might have a look around for one, increased gas coverage can only help the cause.

i agree with zagan, all welding forms have a place, stick is extremly versitile you can basically use it under any conditions, MIG is just easier and faster when done properly. I just get more satisfaction out of a good TIG weld
