Looks very neat fmx, though those big tyre wells are just begging for some more rubber to be put in there i reckon

those front ranchos might foul on the chassis under droop. leaf springs and shackles do allow some side to side movement.

They actually allow quite a bit of sideways movement ... especially when your getting crossed up ... I would look very closely at that before you go flexing it up offroad ...
Still looks good though

Seems like a high COG to me. Is it still using NT diffs or was it converted to WT? My NT ute (spoa, 2"springs, 2"shackles,2"body,33"swampers) spend more time on its side/roof than on its wheels...... Just curious to see the end result..

Still running the narrow tracks for now, (soon the be Hilux)
as for the front shock towers, i am concerned about the movement and contact with the chassis rail, i'll test it soon & see what happens.
The rubber is a temporary thing for a coupla months then 35 x 13.5 x 15's.

My 2 cents .. I know you didnt ask for it .. but here it is anyway
Loose the bodylift .. 31's will fit easy on just the SPOA unless you need to to clear the motor or gearbox ..
then when you do go 35;s run some rears in front to get your firewall clearance and do some minor trimming .. you will end up lower than you are now with 35's and planty of width so it will be stable, the tyres sticking out past the guards will protect the bodywork, if your worrked about the sills some 3 inch by 2 inch 3 or 4mm angle iron rivitted to the bodywork with a couple of brakes tying them to the chassis will make them bomb proof and still look "normal" as well as not sacrificing any clearance at all ...

after i extended my front towers i put it on a ramp and the clearance was fine , a couple of weeks later i was seeing crush marks on the shock body
due to move ment that you wont get when jacking or ramping , such as coming down hard of a big rock with one wheel landing on another big rock and the other one dropping to the ground where there is no rock . but my shocks are rubbish so i 'm not that fussed , but yours look about $175 worth so double check those clearances

looking at the pics i'd be inclined to say they will eventually hit ! not enought to puncture or bend the shock but enought to crush the side wall slightly, but photos can be very decieving i guess.

Cheers....I have some concerns about the clearance. I think the towers will be modded shortly to allow a touch more clearance without weakening the structure too much. I need to keep in mind that the engineer i have spoke to is leanient and although all mods, welds and structures have and will be inspected to strict Australian standards with crucial NATA certified reports, he will still be firing up the "fine tooth comb" when certifying the mods to RTA Guidelines.
All components will have radiographs Magnetic Particle inspections carried out once completed which should help with the Engineers Certificate, and also the Boys in Blue.

i wholeheartedly agree.
with the front, is it possible for you to outboard your lower shockmounts more? a little bit would make all the difference. you could also put a panhard bar on the front and that would reduce lateral displacement of the diff.

Hey whats thi spick on Grimbo thing. As much as I like to have my name appear in every thread I am starting to think you guys think my Zuk will never see the light of day again. Well smarty pants i have to move it out of the shed this weekend.
To get the mower out, but its a start

Bodylift completion time....
The only gripe i have with zuk's is the centre 6 mounts and the fixed body bolts hidden underneath the panels.
Hole sawed the bitch and will complete tomorrow, along with the shock towers.
Strong possibility of a test and tune run to hillso on the weekend.
To be honest im getting itchy and it aint crabs!

This wouldn't be the neatest approach to getting the body lift done fmx... i think the nicer solution would be to keep those bolts in there and work with them.

I agree that would be the neater approach, however..... too late - already done!
Got the body lift completed, flexed her on the hoist legs....I am absolutely stoked!
Will post pics and mpeg later tonight.

Didnt have a chance to post them last night.... heres a couple from my mates camera.
We had it on the hoist to size up the shocks/springs etc....
The rear shocks are too short (replaced this week). The rear spring clips (in at time of pics) reduced drop by 5 inches. Pics soon.
Brake lines also require more extension.
Will post the pics etc tonight.

Shock towers are finished and in, spring clips removed.
Needto source some longer rear shocks and centre the top mounts,
Keep ya's posted. At this rate, should be ready for a trial wheel at Hills on Friday night or Saturday.
