The frequancy of things going wrong in a Mitsu, Nissan, Zuk,Yota etc seem to be far lower than the Yank end english stuff.
There are likey to be 1000's of jeeps out there that are fine, but some parts seem to be really way to small for the job (ie the dana 30 front end that needs to be overhauled very 70,000ks or so, or gearbox's that are to big (realistically) for the tranny tunnel making them overheat. Etc etc.
If the correct precautions are taken they are OK and tow well etc... Unlike the bulk of the jap stuff where the only precautions nessecary is semi regular servicing ...

Probably the most comfortable option, best at towing. Auto is good and engine economical.

Should be able to get one <6k. Just make sure he gets someone who knows landies to do a thorough pre purchase inspection.
