If someone likes the look of a bar, they like the look of the bar. Who give a s%#t where it's driven. Where is it written that a car that doesn't enter in competitions can't have a tube bar? I guarantee every single person on here has something on/in their car or house that isn't used for what it may have been 'originally' designed.

check your winch mounts up OK. Found my XD9000 doesn't suit the cutout at the top of the bar as its on the drivers side. Only option is to rotate gearbox and access lever from underneath

That looks sweet Maxx.. I like...

Anyways... MUMSRIG is now all fitted up. This bar is a little different to the Hilux and has XROX cut into it instead if the holes at the bottom.

There is another section to be added to the bottom which goes from the bar to the lower radiator support (much the same as the hilux one above). This will protect the radiator some more, although there is a pipe that goes left to right infront of the radiator which adds to the protection capabilities. Outback Accessories will also be looking at making up a brush plate (to protect the washer bottle) and that will be fitted up.

The bash plates and sliders will be happening in the next month or so... Steady steady.

I know it's not everyones cup of tea and this is an open discussion thread but please play nice :D

I tidied all of the wiring up and and painted the white sections satin black whilst Mike was fitting the bar up. This the before shot. Pretty messy.

Mike working his magic. This guy hand built the first prototype OKA and worked for them for a number of years building most of the OKA's you see on the roads today.. Pretty talented guy!

Finished product out in the sun. I likey alot... hehe

As stated earlier. Another bash plate section will go from the bar to the lower radiator support later on.

Yes, it is very open looking from the side. But remember, this is not a touring bar. Thats off at the polishers getting a birthday :P

am i seeing things or is the cutout for the free spool now on the passenger side? :)

Nice colour matching. Didn't realise you had options other than black

I noticed on another forum you were going to move your spotlights back. Check that you can still open your bonnet before you go to too much effort.

Damn shame I didn't think of the powder coating, oh well will just be happy when my new centre arrives with the cutout on the passenger side so I can finally fit it up!!

Spotties fitted up perfectly. about 10mm clearance.

The outer ones are just there temporarily until I get a set of 140 Lightforce to fit in the wings...

But the ones in the hoop sit flush now. Still got to find some where to mount the aerial temporarily too...

No No No, thats looks ridiculous, I wouldn't do that even temporarily Mitch.

140s in the wings will look good.

Looks to me that the spotlights obstruct the headlights.

Put some lightforce 140's on yesterday... Bit of a tight fit, but they do fit!

Thinking I might put some 170's in place of the outer Roolites and upgrade the main roolites with something bigger? I know...I said I was gunna take em off but they have grown on me and don't seem to impeed the headlights operation. Although by putting the smaller 170's on that will ensure they do not obstruct in anyway.

I also re-fitted the UHF aerial. I didn't want to mount it on one of the three tabs across the hoop as our garage entry is restricted. Same reason we can't raise MUMSRIG any higher  I purchased a stainless mount and added that to the rear of the bar and just infront of the grille on the passengers side.

I think the side lights look ridiculous, and just make the bar look even worse than it already did. They dont compliment the original lines of the truck in any way and just look like an afterthought. If your happy though that is all that matters ;)

I have the 240's in the center of the bar on mine, but would like to fit some yellow 140's (do they make a smaller lightforce?) in the lower bar for foggy driving in winter here.

Pretty sure 140's are as small as they go... Boughta set of RooLite 220's today, couldn't justify the added expense for the LightForce 240's as they don't even come with a harness.

Looking at this angle the lights on the side of the hoop do look gay...
Image

Would like to try a set of 170's or maybe inverted 140's on there??

Anyway, couple more pics... Everyone loves pics!!

from front on it looks pretty good except for the Mickey Mouse Ear lights. But side on, yikes, ruins the look of the car. Needs infill panels I reckon

Update on MUMSRIG....

She is now fitted up with a set of XROX sliders and bash plates. MUMSRIG was the project mule once again for their development.

Image

They need to be dirty'd up a bit to blend in!!
Image

Image

And the bash plates... Zinc plated...
