Iv got an N/A td42 and asside from it being a lil sluggish on the freeway with 35s I've never once been in the scrub and though hmm I could own this track if I had a turbo. Money would be better spent on lockers and crawlers for me. Too many four wheelers trying to get stupid amounts of power out of the poor old donk and why? It's not a drag car. I'm happier with piece of mind that without a turbo my engine is under less stress even though crallions of people run turbos on stock motors.

You like to go slow (as is proved by your 6" of compensation). I like to go fast. Get over it. The "poor old donk" is more than up to it.

Mine isn't turboed ( yet ), but it does go well.

Extractors, 2 1/2 exhaust, snorkle, Walbro lift pump and the fuel screw slightly twisted. Want to play with the pump timing a little to see if that makes a difference, get to that soon. Using a good quality fuel is noticable also.
The lift pump has been the best mod yet but having the right tyre/gear combo is very important with n/a

.

Well I just finished the conversion yesterday, after sorting some teething
probs like some bright spark removing the thermostat and stuff,
I filled up, drove 195 kms then filled back up taking 18.97 litres from the same servo, same pump.
Thats unreal economy, I'm very happy.
I had sort of brainwashed myself into being ready for an absolute slug in
terms of power but was very surprised at how good it was. Hills require
some early downchanges but it wasn't really a problem at all.
I will see how my opinion goes in time but for now its fine,

take it off road and see how it goes up hills, you will notice that it doesn't accelerate as quick but it has alot of torque and will hold low rpm real well.

I can drive hills in the girls car down to 600rpm, I have had it low enough that the charge light comes on. TD42 have very good low torque, but not a real speed demon.
