Jarrad and Dave, what are the chances of us going through deepish water on Sunday?
(ie. would it be wise for me to put a disable switch on my electric thermo fans before then?)

We'll have to go home via some fire traks through kuipto and surrounding areas. Hopefully there should be some water on them.
Shouldn't be too deep as jarrad said. Kewl, see everyone there then. is 9:30 ok for you murcod?

Everything's sorted out for times. We're leaving from Wynn Vale at around 8:15am- should be plenty of time to get down there.
I've got a UHF hand held, and I think Steve's got one in his rig as well.
Lots of rain forecast for Saturday and Sunday, it should be fun!
PS: Somebody is going to have to out do Croz's effort in the mud.....

Well the trip was on today. We had three Ferozas (Jarrad and Dave x2); plus Sam in a Landcruiser and Steve in a Pathfinder.
It was an excellent day (although Sam probably doesn't think so....) and I've got to say my Feroza surprised me with some of the stuff it was able to do.
We spent a good couple of hours trying to free Sam's Landcruiser after he got stuck big time in a muddy creek crossing. There was nowhere to attach the winch cable to and it was too steep to position a vehicle above him to tie onto.
Jarrad and Steve decided to make a new crossing up further and both got stuck part way having to be pulled out.
Some pics to follow.
PS: If you ever go out with Dangerous Dave don't trust him when he says "You'll be right mate it's not that hard....."

Sam when he first got stuck. And the first attempt at winching- we had to stop when the rock sounded like it was about to come tumbling down!!
The other guys have got more shots to come. (Including me sliding sideways along a creek bank trying vainly to climb out
)

Guys, guys, guys,
Like i told you all. It was just like a walk in the park! lol not... So when's the next one? The next one needs to be up north so start looking for some good spots guys.
Sam let us know how you go with the insurance company! I recon it was a pretty fun day had by all. Even if you did basically throw away $800 into the wind. How did you go with the mrs!?!
Ah well i'd like to see more pics of the recovery if anyone has more of them and if there is any shots of my car could you e-mail them to me at:
Dangerous_Dave_83@hotmail.com.
Cheers fellas

You see it was a feral Olive tree and I thought I'd do my bit for the environment while you guys were mud wrestling with the cruiser...
No doubt the pictures will emerge sooner or later
. But I did get through first go after the cruiser created the huge mud pit. Not a bad effort for a near stock Feroza.
BTW I haven't got any pics of the cruiser stuck, I was too busy cleaning up the area of Olive trees and collecting rocks.

So which tyre can be repaired?
For those wondering Sam's Cruiser got bogged big time up to the axles in thick slippery mud. The only way to winch it out was by pulling it sideways tied to two vehicles (directly ahead up hill was too dangerous and slippery).
Anyway, the front left broke the bead as it was getting pulled sideways and nearly came off the rim completely.... Then there was a hissing noise from the back left as he was trying to drive out- a hole in the sidewall! All on near new Copper STT's; and of course he only had one spare (left the other at home!)
Luckily Steve's Pathfinder was the same six stud PCD and his spare fitted. It was bit bit touch and go jacking the Cruiser up on a slippery muddy slope.

Dangerous Dave's favourite playground that he kindly shared with us.

OK some hints- there was a creek, some gum trees, it was hilly and there were lots of feral olive trees..... the olive trees will give away that it wasn't any conservation park/ national park or else they would have been poisoned.
