A Fuel injected big block v8 will surprise some with
its max power around 1800rpm and can be not much
worse than a tb42 if not better once loaded up for a holiday
at the fuel pump
for eg I have a 454 on LPG and it dose 28lph around town and about the same on the hwy
and most tb42 engines on LPG use around 23lph empty

bought 6years ago a 94 gq with td42 with Luxan turbo, 3" Exhaust, fitted from new and only replaced the radiator with custom HiTech radiator, no intercooler running 8pound boost, doesn't overheat ,pulls like a truck and with long range tank fitted (145L) pulling offroad Trackabout camper can get a touring range 1100-1200km on 33" MTZ.
Use KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) and you can't go wrong, this motor has only 280,000 on it and will never get rid of it.
94 gq RX4.2 , 4" lift ,MTZ, winch etc
