also depends on what kind of terrain you will be mainly driving on.. If you are in mud, traction is more important and lockers aren't as effective, where as steep terrain probably requires lockers.
We went to Emu park a while ago(before it was shut down) and put some 32" swampers on it and it did pretty much everything without a locker, so it depends on what kind of terrain you will be doing. All terrains let down to around 18psi do pretty much everything(expect mud). so i would go the locker.

After spending heaps of money on Flex and rubber and then shedloads more parts cos I had to hit shiat twice as hard to get over it. With no lockers I had to "bounce over" any decent bumps etc I could not 'drive" them, because as soon as you get peglegged you stop.
On alot of tracks I could go further in 2wd locked than I could in 4wd unlocked.
If your just driving mud still get a locker you will be easier on the tracks and the vehicle

As far as driving mud is concerend .. If the road is jut greasy but flat the more agressive rubber will get you further, as soon as there is a bump in the track .. you stop end of story

Cheers for the advice and may you have good day :D

Pedes ... not much point having a locker if you can't get the power down to the ground ... specially in VIC where most surfaces are low-traction.

Otherwise Rocks = Locker. :D

but isnt that how you get photos like hotties car, you know his site with 120,000 articulation photos of the car buried 4 foot deep in shit....

:D

locker first, then pedes, depends on what kind of terrain too.
