If the Lux was only for playing in and weekends then just insure it for 3rd party property. That way your covered should you damage another persons vehicle. And at the end of the day the mods to your lux are worth more than the Lux itself. Insurance wouldnt cover the cost, thats what I ended up doing with my old Lux.

Get rid of the Lux and get a comfy Cruiser....... Or.. Do some work to the Lux. And it does need alota work. Like new tint on the windows, new Canopy, change the g52 box that I break often for a stronger R150-151, fit a trans brake, fit new rims and tyres, repair the leaky long range tank, fix aircon, stop oil comming out the rear main and swivle hub seals, ... it could also do with a full suspension revamp, and a x-over steer set up. I may then just be happy with my Lux again...

gearbox - thats an issue, fix it.
rims and tyres you will do probably a few times any way, fix the tank, easy, air con - thats what windows are for, rear main seal, do that while box is out any way, swivel hubs - do them every now and then aswell.

most of it is just maintenance which you have to do with every truck, only the gear box is a big issue,

for what it is i would keep it. my 75 is in a similar possition at the moment, but i am keeping it as i know its a decent truck, and i havent played enough in it yet.

suspension wise, thats what andy jim ment when he said drink a cup of concrete as more weight in a leaf sprung fourby will make the leaves work better,

play with the leaf packs, take the two smallest fattest leaves out and see if that helps any.

That's like coming into a relationship breakup thread saying you should try it with another man.
You're obviously a hilux driver. The sooner you clowns understand that the hilux is a heap of shit off road the better.

Does the Hilux still come standard with a set of flanny shirts? One for each day of the week?

Explore your possibilities and go beyond the Toyota badge. You will realise that there are a whole heap of options available.

Just think of it as a new girl friend that wants to try anal.
Because she has a Pencil???
GOLD

That is GREAT!

Christ did i get my sums wrong on this one.... BOUGHT the 100 series TD, and im certainly a lot more careful where i punt it now.. lot more panel work to damage on this new white whale...
