i remember not long ago they wanted to ban bull bars, the doo gooders said that if you lived within a 100km limit of sydney you had to take the bar off or cop a extra bit on your rego. just remember the govrnment took firearms off law abiding citizens and it hasn't stoped the crime and murder. Just watched that footage of TT. I think that if that was supposed to simulate a rd condition, then the instructor should be SACKED cos he incouraged dangerous driving. NOT the drivers, he incouraged them to drive to fast for the conditions and for the vehicle.
I drive a 4b and I drive it as such. If I wanted a sports car I would have brought one, but then the Skyline wouldn't take me up the high country either (well where I want to go anyway).
As others have said, I dont think we need to re-invent the system, we just need to up the stds of the test. But then again, I belive most people can drive pretty well if they put there minds to it. Its just that they drive well for the 10mins of the test and from then drive bad.
Also there should be a law taking into account driver postion. How many poeple (it's not just P'Platers), have the seat back and laying so low that there is noway they would be able to control thecar or the mainly female drivers that are so close to teh steering wheel most could rest there chins on it. There is no way they would be able to effect rapid controlled rapid changes in direction.

I thought it was very poorly done, even for there usuall one side no research articles. Some times I do find them informative, but this was just a crap report.

Haven`t rear this whole post as I`m lazy.
But this is the way I think dumb people think.
Oh my god the road toll is higher this year.
The popullation has also increased but we want take that in to it.
As has the traffic on the roads and once again we want take that in to it.
So hell lets find some one to blame it on, yep lets pick 4x4s as we want one but don`t have a big enough dick.

The road death toll has actually fallen steadily over the last 20 years. Read an article somewhere (trying to find it now) showing that actual deaths per road uses have fallen dramaticly. There are more road users every year and the road toll is the same if not less every year. If the figures are in context the real story is told....
