So now it wont even run. Tried to start it this evening and it ran Initially but only for 15sec and very rough. Then couldn't get it to even kick.
Didn't have a spare plug to put into a lead before it got dark, and cold, so i put the timing light on and have got nuthin on No 1 lead and then tried the coil lead and nuthin either.
Coil? How do I test a coil without nukeing my Multi?

Pulled the plug that goes to the distributor and its got power with the ignition on.

Frustrating....

Finally got it too run again.
Cleaned the dizzy out, the reference disc is now silver, slots and holes are clear, and should now allow the sensor to read if its any good. I have heard some of these are supposed to have a type of grease on them but that would clog the slots up.
New coil lead..

Starts ok but as soon as it gets a few rpm its starts to miss. Will pull the plugs in the next few days to check..
Still coming up with the same fault code but says it detected it while car is running.

Havn't set the timing but just eyed it to where it was before I took the dizzy out. Havn't really ever found the right setting for it before .

Tempted to throw a coil at it. Its got a gt30? coil with resistor so will have a look at the earths etc.

Autronic can supply trigger disks.

The actual disk seems ok. I would have thought it was the optical sensor ,wireing, coil, leads, dead valve, injector.?

Also if I swap the modded disk with another dizzy do they only sit in the one position. Just abit worried about stuffing the alignment up.

I know this may sound silly but what is your fuel pressure like.

I dont know.
I am only really going down the path with the sensor because of the fault code, missing, possible timing issue , running hotish.

Yep had similar problem with factory and aftermarket computer and it turned out to be the fuel pump. If you have a spare fuel pump lying around hook it up in line to diagnose. Never know.

Well...Finally may have solved this.
Went to a mates and pulled the dizzy out of a farm hack and it was spotlessly clean and the disk had some markings on the side facing up. Mine was facing down , putting the 60 degrees before TDC way out.

Still shows an error code , so will have to figure out how to clear that..

Thanks for the help men.

Yep thats an understatement. I would fill the page with  if I could.

Next is a dyno tune. Whats a decent tune worth?

An update on this.
Got it tuned, apparently whoever set this computer up had no idea. They were suprised it even ran. All sorts of issues.
They put a Autronic trigger disk in as Joel said.
Made 170 rwkw on 35s with 600nm on a reliable tune. I need a bigger fuel pump and air box for more, so wouldn't be too expensive when this gets boring....
More would be better but thats plenty for what i need.
