[quote="tappo"]i got a old n/a td42 with a denco turbo kit on it, and it seems to be blowing heaps of fuel, wondering if i need a boost compensator, or if i can just back the fuel down a bit???
im new to this diesel stuff... egts.... boost compensators....
egts are a lil high atm, and am told that a big reason could just be to much fuel.... yea? nah?
can i get away with no compensator.... at least till after xmas???[/quote
the boost compensator stops the fuel pump from pumping too much fuel before you come on boost, so the alternative is to not accelerate too hard before you have useable boost,

boost compensators
Re: boost compensators
just got back from fraser over nye....
awesome trip ps....
back to the main topic tho....
was running close on 500 to 550 mark most of the way up the freeway, fiddled abit with the fuel screw and bleed valve and found a happyish medium, under load was yea 500s no load just crusin was 300s, still way higher than my mates (was runnin 300 tops)....
after 12ish hrs of those temps and a very ugly "knocking" on the beach @ freaser i have decided to rebuild and sort this out proparly....
so far i got
rebuild kit
boost comp
injector pump (check)
injectors (check)
redo intake pipes and snorkel setup, get a better flow or air in with less bends and turbulant air
intercooler
radiator....(maybe)....
anything else that should be done while im getting this done?
most importantly tho is there any one close to newcastle that is good with diesels? or am i up for another trip to the land of milk and honey...(qld)
