Interest free my arse. They dont loan money for nothing! They would be out of business real quick if they did. The finance companies pay the retailer for the goods purchased, minus their interest charges............guaranteed, but it helps the retailer turnover goods. The interest charges are already built into the price of selected "interest free" items by the retailer.

Exactly. Walk into a retailer with cash, and you will always walk out with the item cheaper than advertised, put it on GE, no chance.

I haggled Harvey Norman down once on a telly, agreed on a price then said I wanted GE Interest Free. Salesman said he couldn't do interest free at the agreed price because GE charged them a fee, I asked him what the fee was, he told me and I said that I'd pay the fee on top of the price and he was happy with that.

Mght depend on the salesman on the day.
