well i asked about a solinoid problem, but then he said he bypassed the solinoid and traced it to the start itself, its got nothing to do with an earthing problem, as we tryed a few things while he was there.

Some of them are good but some of them know absolutely jack - this is possibly the majority I fear.
So I wouldn't rule anything out just because of what the racv guy said.
Anyway, all you've got to do is take out the starter and take it to an auto elec and get it overhauled for a coupla hundred bucks, and then you've got to stop filling it with mud all the fucking time.
You can TRY dismantling it and cleaning it up yourself first. Up to you.

well i took out the starter this morning, and its off the the auto elec to see what is needed to be done to fix it.

got it back today , fully reco'd and as good as new. $181.

I put another shim on my starter motor mount yesterday during lunch. No more crunching now

i just stuffed the car again tonight, i played in some mud and the car sank, covered a whole 33" tyre and now the car is pissing out power steering fluid
and i think i wrecked the steering somehow. coz it doesnt feel right and the steering wheel has moved 90% CW

Mud wouldn't make the steering move 90 degrees clockwise (if that's what you mean.)
So something harder than mud hit it.
PAS fluid is probably pouring out of a torn hose or damaged pipe.
You gotta clean it up and take a look.

i had the whole front left tyre buried in mud (33) and the cheezy bar was pushing the mud. i couldnt get snatched out from behind after about 15 attempts, so it was forward snatching. With decent run ups and massive jerks eventually it came out, whilst in the process it grabbed the wheel as it was buried deep and i think that is how the steering has moved.
When i went to wash the car after the whole coil was full of think clay type mud, i noticed it pissing out power steering fluid from the steering coloumn. pain in the arse, and i only have the car working for 4 1/2 hrs
well cant drive it till tuesday till it gets fixed, and i think i might give wheeling a miss for a while, but will probably change my mind later.
i gotta stop playing around new estates in drains and shit. they look deceiving, coz it looked fine. and i crossed it about 6 times in different sections and it was all good, but this bit, obviously bad.

People see you f*ucking around and makes all 4 wheel drivers look bad..
Anyway it will prob be a bent rear steering link.

Well the thing is, playing in mud is only a test of (a) how much you've spent on tyres and (b) how willing you are to clean up afterwards (or just let your car rust.)
It's not like it requires anything resembling 4WDing skill.
Jumping in puddles is what you did for fun when you were four.

i was just out mucking around with a mate, i didnt mean to do this, i was just running 33s ATs, not the JTs
just need to give the car a good clean, was going to do it after work today, but it started to rain

As well as looking at your PS hoses, have a look at the flex coupleing and see if you have knackered that yet (ps they dont like powersteering fluid).
As has been mentioned all the steering rods dont like being pushed thru hard mud.
As for playing in houseing estates that's just stupid. And if I caught you in there I would ramp a doozer on your bonnet.
