Well the front guards are trimmed up, for now this should be ok I'd rather keep some strength in this clip, I think that was the down fall of the old clip.

Spent this evening with the flap disk cleaning everything (read panel damage) for the respray, ordered some DMAissue4692 paint which should be in on Tuesday.

Purple zook now happily in new home being built.

I'll get around to doing a thread one day, it just takes so long to load up pictures.

Will end up with Vit motor, 1.3 gearbox, MQ patrol diffs, 35's, 6;1 rock hoppers, 6 point cage, paratus seats, harnesses and heaps of other crap.

How did you blow that motor?

Oh and was the gearbox any good or is it in the same state as the donk?

Well I started some of the painting last night

Here is th colour I am going with, I wanmted to ad yellow flames with red tips but the yellow just doesn't seem to cover purple that well.

I would really like to do yellow flames with red tips over the tan, but this proved to be to difficult so i'm just going beige all over.

perhaps slate or light grey flames?

If you want yellow paint that covers pretty much anything with ease use some industrial yellow, super thick and covers really well.

I sprayed a dark blue hoist with it and only needed 2 light coats.

Nah thanks all the same,

Another reason why I dooped out of painting flames for the police value. I was almost going to give it the OD treatment but given my penchant for panel damage I wanted a paint I can get by the tin for spraying with the gun but also be able to buy more down the track in a rattle can for touch ups.

You can buy this stuff at any bunnings and its available in quite a few different colours.

That stuff looks sweet bigsteve. Glad you choose that colour, really like the natural look.

I'm hoping to go something similar in the future ;)

The hardest decision is what type of chrome for my rims :finger:

Brushed Aluminium  or Straight out Crome

have you covered up the hole you cut in the inner guard or do you leave it open?

Posted: Mon Jul 26, 2004 4:21 pm
by bigsteve
I left it open, that way the headlight lights up the ground in front of the front tyres.

Cheap rock lights

Steve,

Have you been told today?

You're an ideas man

How does the extra mud and crap affect the engine?

Put it this way, compared to my old front clip with no inner guards it shouldn't cause any problems.

My air intake is through the firewall under the dash so drowning the engine is not a worry, besides I don't really like deep mud/water
