Ive had a set of BFG's and i now have a set of trepadors.
The bfg's were pretty good off road but horrible in the wet on road, i believe they have a much harder compound than the treps.
The treps are better off road and awesome on road they are a much softer compound and do wear allot quicker.

I think if you want a tyre that will last for ages and is good in the mud go for the BFG.
If you want a tyre that is awesome in all situations but wears out allot quicker go the Treps.

Ordered a set of 31 bighorns today for $240 each fitted and balanced. Seems to be somewhere around the going price? The bloke at the tyre shop quoted me that price for the buckshots (lesser version of bighorns). He then said hang on, got on the phone and got the bighorns for the same price

This will be my second set stepping down from a 33 horn

I'm on my second set of Hercules terra trac MT's on the colorado. Not as agressive as a bighorn, but do the business o.k. and at $170 ea (245/75/16) fitted they are definitely cheap traction.
They kays I get aren't really comparable because I drive on concrete taxiways a lot - 17000 is big kays for any tyre on that stuff.
