Are you sure they ever worked?

not really no, i'm sure somewhere along the line they had to.. but its not the only thing we've had troble with getting sorted :?

just hoping a longer pushrod will solve it?? as with a bodgy spacer sitting in there to push master in further they did seem to work.. but being a bodgy spacer it only lasted a few mins

SUCCESS!

after more beer, more swearing, more brake fluid, more mess.. we got brakes

no idea what the prob was, but a GU booster and GU master cyl fixed it, with a lil tweaking on the pushrod for length.

Got a few minor vacuum issues that will be sorted tomorro but now it goes.. and stops

Guessing the original GQ master cyl/bosster wasnt big enough

Would be interesting to know if GU master is bigger bore than GQ....... had my suspissions that you weren't moving enough volume of fluid when you said your rear callipers were siezed but you seemed to have good pedal... but when rebuilt, you had bad pedal...... having rears siezed or clamping rear line, where you said you had some pedal, is essentially the same thing, the master didn't have to move as much fluid to get the fronts on..... I don't think the longer rod does much at all as far as actually improving brakes is concerned, unless the pedal is actually touching the floor.... the only thing it can do is make the pedal work sooner by having the master cyl piston pushed down the bore a little more before the brakes are applied or taking movement out of the pedal pivot/s, essentially moving the pedal upward toward the driver, thereby taking a little slack out of the system..... anyway it's solved, good work
