i have seen many GQ boxes with v8's in front and they are running fine.
Chad uses a GQ 5-speed behind a 302w in his black jeep cherokee ute. It was the best (& cheapest) way of updating from the T-18 that was originally there. The black truck is his work vehicle so it has to be extremely reliable.
