I am talking Trxus Mud Terrain, which has a THICK sidewall, and yes.. BFG Muds have about the thinest sidewall on the market!!1



Trxus also come in an STS A/T.... which is a WEIRD tyre...

I have a vehicle reasonably similar to yours with 35" claws on ATM, and compared to the way the MTR's perform they are a bit dissapointing sometimes. I was out on the weekend with a vehicle almost Identical to yours with the 37" MTR's on it, and it was a weapon. I have myself a nice new set of 37" MTR's to put on now.. want to buy 5 spare claws??

I'm still yet to give them a good workout..... was planning on using the mainly for comps and really heavy work. Hopefully for the added traction, mainly for the extra durability especially at low pressures....

To get them to work run them REAL low. At 10psi they look like they are running at 30. At 8psi, they will flex enough to touch the backing plate on the disc withuot slipping the bead

And if you have a decent drive down a fire trail/forest trail to get to the hard stuff, air them down as soon as you hit the dirt. Running them low with a little bit of pace gets them warmed up & squishy.

Thanks for the advice! I've been advised that 4psi for the rocky stuff is ideal!
Let me know when you're selling the claws, I could have a buyer down here....

Yep, agreed ... but A/T is a tread pattern aimed at an 70%+ street with mild offroad capabilities. I just question the need to run such a large tyre for "street" when size is usually wanted for offroad clearance, etc.

44's are also used to increase the contact patch...


Take Iceland for Example... Big Tyres to spread the load...

The Truxxus and LTB have been around the States for well over a year, and have not found great popularity for trail use. As mentioned earlier, they come in some odd sizes, which has been their marketing strategy. The BF Goodrich Krawler just came out here, so I take it that you guys will see it in the future (?). Here is some info that Rockcrawler.com put out about them;

I haven't heard much about them, but they were used last year on the Rockcrawling circuit here in the States. I haven't seen too many prople cutting their own tires here (with the exception of mud bog vehicles). Has anyone in OZ experimented cutting or siping Swampers?

wouldn't mind knowing how the 44x21x15 6ply trxus sst works on rock,
sure its an all terrian but by rights it should work better on rock than a bogger. the more voids the better on rock not the biggest voids.not to mention there listed about 3/4 the price of the bogger which to an oz buyer would have to mean 300 odd bucks saving each tire wouldn't it?
Kev b some guys play with the tread i have seen 44 " boggers with every second lug taken out completley the guy was running them on the rear and normal on the front i think. A lot of poeple i know sipe there tires ,The more edges the better but causes premature wear of cause .

Has anyone had anymore experience with these? I'm considering them for my new tyres.(TrXus Mud Terrain)

LOVE THEM, awesome grip, and really good size, just over 33 on a 15x7

Cheapest price i have got on replacement is over $400AU

Hate that these can be found for $120US

I had a set, did 25,000 on them, loved them.

Tough tyre, worked REAL well offroad, handled and drove better offroad than my MTR's and were quiet.

I bought my 44" Trxus sst All Terrains from Hobbsy at Procomp in Narre Warren over 2 years ago. He brought in a couple of sets, 1 set of 33", and 1 set of 44" for me. the ones in the pic must either be a small size, or the writing has been coloured in, as the bigger sizes are all black.
There was a write up in "Petersons 4x4" a few months back, comparing the 44" TSL, 44" Bogger, 44" Trxus, 46" Claw and 49" Irok, in a mud bog. The Trxus faired the worst, obviously, as it is a All Terrain, but still did OK. There is a striped green and black Jeep Scrambler that did the Top Truck Challenge in the U.S.A. a couple of years ago, with Trxus 44", and he did OK.

Procomp also has had the LTB etc for a couple of years as well, they were at Wandin 2 years ago.

The Offroader Pics are all from Hobzee, just prior to moving to their store in Narre Warren,

the trxus STS A/T in the pic was a smaller one... I got the first set of Trxus Mud Terrain around the same time.
