I do know beaudesert dont like selling thier dump pipes separately unless your on their books as a recent customer.
The guys on lcool certainly disagree with the "not worth it comment".

yeh its just way too subjective to trust anyone's opinion without some sort of testing.
im using a stock dump pipe, 3" mandrel, with a boost adjuster to bring the boost on faster and i can tell you it hits 15psi pretty dam quickly.

I think you will find with performance upgrade's, it about "all"the things you do to the motor that complement each other.
Not just 1 thing that makes a huge inprovment.
If you want big power, get your injector pump & injectors recod & set up properly.
Mine's setup to run 16lb boost, But because i tow a heavy load ive backed it off using a boost controler to 14lb with little difference to power.

Shadow,
what boost controller are you running, is it just a std needle valve one or an electronic one.

Na, I got the pump & injectors done because i brought a 3.5t caravan & didnt want any problems down the track.
The shop set the boost at 16lbs because thats the limit of reliability of the stock turbo.
The later pootrol's use the same (denso) injector pump. It is the big injector pump.

how many k's has urs done? if i was to get a motor that has 150 000 i think i would get the injectors and that rebuilt seeing that the 200 000 service is supposed to be injectors and pump rebuilt. was there anything wrong, signs of wear or clogging when they pulled it apart??

I had it done @ 360,000 ks, As far as i knew, it had not been done before.(3rd owner, country km all its life)
There was no visable signs that it needed doing, I have the valve clearances done by Toyota once a year & they didnt think it need doing, But i wanted it done anyway. The pump body need replacing (very common on a rebiuld) & all the injectors where in poor condition & recoed.
Cost was close to $4000
