Evan ...

My suggestion would be ditch the 4lt V8 and drop a 6lt LS2 in it .. dont waste your money .. I dont know of a U4 car that runs NOS in the states.. in the long run it will just become $$$$$$$.

I don't want to run a ls2.
The 1uz will be fine. I already have the auto adapted, atlas. Aftermarket ecu etc
Just because you don't know anyone in the states running NOS doesn't mean I shouldn't! Plus I don't want to be a sheep nor is our racing anywhere near theirs.

Evan if you dont set it up properly you will cause damage to your engine..

if you want to be safe you need to have a separate fuel pump, tank etc just for the nitrous fuel. You can also run C16 as the fuel as well to be safe...timing will need to be retarded when the Nitrous is activated..keep an eye on the spark plugs as if it is too lean or you are pushing it for too long your plugs will melt the ends off, next step after that is putting a hole in the piston...you should get approx 60-90 seconds worth from a bottle which can start to get expensive depending on how many times you inted using it..i built a stand to hold a large mother bottle and we filled our own bottles from it as it was heaps cheaper
having used it for many years in street/strip cars it does have many advantages however it wont help you wheelstand on the street or beat trains across a track as you change gears 7 times over a quarter mile like in the movies...set it up right and it will be fine, do it half arsed and will cost you $$$ in the end

most of our Nitrous gear is now sitting idle in the shed as we are all in the turbo brigade nowadays

Yea right will have to look into all of the right bits.
I want to keep it on pump fuel so i don't have to travel to get it and as per comp rules.
It'll be social driven a fair bit too so want to keep it affordable to run all wkend
I won't be using it heaps so i don't see the cost of the NOS being an issue.
Its like you said setting it up properly

If you are after a bit more poke out of the 1uz why not put a blower on it, fron the sounds of things it would be more reliable and probably cheaper in the long run - eaton m90 and eaton m112 can be bought for less than a grand on ebay then some fabrication

Because the car is getting made class8 compliant which is no forced induction over 3.5L

You probly already have but Better check if they class nitrous oxide a forced induction, wouldn't want to go through the effort of setting it up then find out you can't run it.

I can't run NOS in class 8 but it's allowed in Aust4 series

Yeah. As long as there is a mechanical disconnection for the NOS then no problems having it still fitted to the vehicle when racing class 8.

Ive ran nitrous for years, a few mates run it also 400 sbc, 426 sbc, 265 hemi, I ran a 100hp fogger system in my 186 eh ute, 150hp plate system in my 330 stroker lh torana, 50hp shot single fogger in my 3rz powered buggy and not to mention a few bush bashers, 150 shot in a ke corolla was interesting haha, its nice cheap power but can destroy engines in seconds if not set up correctly.

I always ran a fuel pressure safety switch so the system will deactivate if you loose fuel pressure, the spark plugs are a good indicator to how the engine is running too lean or too rich, couple of more things, don't try to hit the gas until 2500- 3000rpm and at WOT only, basically the engine is getting twice as much fuel and nitrous at 3000 rpm than it would at 6000rpm so lower the revs the more strain on the engine, (youtube nitrous backfire) any thing over 100hp I would go a 1 step colder plugs and retard the timing a couple of degrees if you can and keep bottle pressure above 900psi with a bottle heater in the winter months.

I reckon the 1uz will handle 125hp all day everyday but man your going to go through some gas circuit racing/aus4 and at $10 a pound i think a turbo or supercharger set up would be better, cheaper and more reliable in the long run.

^^^ thanks

A supercharger would be cheaper power but class 8 won't allow the forced induction. All I'll new to do is disconnect the bottle for class 8.

I have had a look and might have found a different inlet manifold that will be 2 throttle bodies and 16 injectors. Could set it up with the extra 8 injectors feeding when NOS is being used?

I with aust4 only being 3 races next year I shoul be able to keep the cost relatively low.

I think even the different intake, valves, and cam will do alot for it!

Just use a fogger system with 8 nozzles, the nozzle injects the fuel and nitrous.

My old fogger set up in the EH, 3 inlet runners 3 nozzles
