I don't think that's the axle? They had a recall on wheel studs.
Me, the 3l are just too small. Have a 2004 dual cab and the lil bugger went bang at 240k, had nads since 146k, serviced every 5 k, oil and filter.
On my way to power cruise with my 1 toner in tow, miles from home. No warning egt fine, boost, coolant fine. Bang did a piston. NEVER AGAIN
Ls1 in my dual cab now. Don't want to get rid of he car. Didn't even consider a td42, they use as much fuel as my ls1 will. With a heap more power.
I personally wouldn't buy or rec a 3l to anyone. They are a ticking time bomb which will go off at will. I use to defend them till mine left me in the bush. I was just glad it was just me and not the entire family.
At least if the ls1 gets tired can rebuild or BRAND NEW engine for 4.5k.
My 2 bobs worth
