Bubs: You can E-mail or Fax me the details and I will work it our from there. Does anybody have the Nissan 4.2 Petrol Power curve (Dyno Sheet) for a Std engine. There might even be a factory set some where?

Taking longer than expected - but I guess thats to be expected!!

The adpater plate between the engine and gearbox is the main delay - getting the people who are cutting a template and then the real plate.
Engine mounts are going to be moved.

I dont expect it to be ready for at least 2 weeks.

Sold the old motor already, selling the old gas setup next (hopefully)

Will post more info when I have it...

1UZ-FE, quadcam 32v multi-point EFI
Between 191 and 206kW @5400-6200 depending on year/model of doner car. I am expecting up to +15kW with custom exhaust.
79kg lighter than TB42
100A alternator
I dont pretend its a 5.7L grunt engine.

The conversion this thread is about is 1 week of driving, we are just needing to finish up engine mounts, adaptors are done, wiring done, just connecting up all the do dads and an exhaust

in our setup we will be at about 230kw at flywheel

Yes, I am using the stock computer.

I would not consider a different computer unless it was a pure competition car - there is a lot of good programming in a factory ECU. Also I have been given a spare ECU and will be able to use it as a spare on the long trips I plan to do. The factory wiring harness is a work of art too....

However I am thinking of a UNICHIP as I have heard good things from the Lexus guys. 15kW flywheel gain and better torque curve.
I dont think a UNICHIP will help if I change the (4) cams though...

No point getting ahead of myself - want to drive it first!

A TPS? Is that Throttle Position Sensor?

I am using the Nissan manual. I have had to use a speed sensor (about $90) for the computer but I dont know about a TPS - will ask the installer if you like.

yea mate got all details wire colours etc you need to find out what year the auto box came out of that way i can help you with the overdrive i have nearly worked it out there are two harnesses
one harness there is light green ,light green and black or it might be blue bit dark at the moment and green and red

the other harness is yellow, yellow and red, and yellow and blue

the first harness is the throttle valve switch and the second is the sensor let me know if you have trouble's let me know which box you have wheather its from a carby model or a fuel injected model

Bubs,
Gather you didnt have a lot of room to work with?
Performance is going to suffer pretty badly with that design isn't it?
Nice work by the way, not knocking your workmanship :D

Cheers

that looks horn. Congrats Bubs.

Are you going to get proper extractors for it, or stick with those things you made?

Not much room to get to plugs and oil filters ??

No, those manifolds are to stay

Plenty of room, the plugs are under the plastic covers on each rocker cover

oil filter is easily reaced from under neath

Looks good, what air filter setup is it using. It's a bit hard to tell from the pics.
