NICK wrote:really? ring the wrecker that they came from and tell them that they are no better than the ones you have now and they should give you a refund.

maybe they too were sagged to the ass.

I'm going to go to the wrecker on next Monday to see about that. They are pretty good fellas there so I doubt I'll have any problems with swapping them.

I measured the height after driving it a bit and flexing the rear etc and it would appear they gave a 20mm lift.

It's just a pain that after all this buggerising around I'll have to swap them again. Should be heaps quicker 2nd time around though.

The joys of doing things on the cheap :?

Yeah that looks pretty decent. Are they 31in tyres?

At least mine rides better now. These springs seem to be a bit softer. Guess they are out of a wagon and not a 1 tonner.

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to the wreckers on Monday arvo.

Thats a sizeable lift then  . If all goes well I'll be running 31x10.5 MTRs on 7in rims once this lift goes on. Will get the tyres anyway though but it would be nice to go a decent lift too.

Nick,

Are you sure there are Jackaroo 6 leaf springs around?

I went back to the yard and they said they would swap them no worries but I looked around and they had nothing suitable. If any come in they will swap them.

In all my time looking for springs I have never seen a 6 leaf pack. Not in any wreckers or on any Jackaroos I have seen on the road.

Are you positive they are not aftermarket springs or reset with extra leaf? Any chance of posting some pics of the spring packs on here?

I like the 5 leaf springs that I got as they are softer and 1in lift but I would prefer more of course. Might get these ones reset 2 in over standard and then that would be a 3in lift. Or get the stock ones reset 2in over standard and then be able to do a straight swap.

Guy's,

I got HD leafs with 50mm extra ride height from carrols springs in Smithfeild Sydney, They were an ENFORCER spring. Worked well, gas shokies changed the ride alot, muchsmoother, better flex, pity about the torsion bar front end.

Tiny,

You did well. I did the reset add a leaf thing and would never go down that path again. Very very stiff. Was only good when heavily loaded. If I kept my Rodeo these were the springs I was going to buy. Mate decided to buy a pair and they are sweet.

The enforcer springs are good as they have the main load leaf set almost at the end of travel, so the rear flexed well untill that point. to think the were 1.5t rated but gave a smoother ride was hard to believe.
