im sick of birfields thats all. I may have never snapped an axle or even sheared off a stud on the axle or on the wheel, but hell ive hated birfeilds a long time now. Id like to have something BIG in front is my main reasoning. Plus I was actually very curious at the time as to the Venezualan specs of Henry Cubillans 60 series. 8)

Which in turn damaged airlockers

Broken tailshafts and transfer cases, and subsequently got annoyed.
Although ive wrecked more stuff trying to fix it than I have wheeling. I am a very frustrated wrencher on some days. As my adapter plate drilling will attest. Actually smith drilled it, but I have nowhere near the sort of patience he does. so you can hardly imagine my efforts.
Hell I once took 6 hours to change a birfield and missed a routing with an ex because of it. It hurts when you break the stub axle, cause you decided you'd make it home, then to work, and back home, eventually it locks up and you think it'll break clear, and it starts causing carnage further out. ROFL
Yeah, I may not be as hardcore of a wheeler as some guys out there, and I have to be honest I think the cruiser axles are a FAIR bit of chop (good axle) once upgraded with fine splines (some get it standard) 1980 + so yeah, it can be difficult to guage.
SOFT WHEELER
now where is my wheeling picture parked in the grass, all nice and shiny!

I wasnt saying you dont wheel hard as i know you do. I was just more curious why you are looking at broaching side gears for 35spline axles when the 31spline axles are not causing you probs.

I am only running 30 splines. But granted they have had significant upgrades over stock. Stronger housings, full floaters, ARB airlocker centre, fine spline pinions, maybe they would have held up, maybe they wouldn't whose to know. I think the back is pretty phat for a common axle. BUT im keen to upgrade the front, what about this, a D60 centre section with hilux outers
RUFF, my interest was to upgrade the front axle... broaching to 35spline is something I would not consider doing as there is a lot of cheaper local options I have yet to try out. I am thinking overkills Dana 44 toy hybrid with a high pinion front and a shaved housing, with CTMs and alloys would be a decent but expensive choice, with parts available and hopefully minimal breakage. The 35 spline question was for another guy that I was talking to, Personally id straight out run a standard axle over some custom stuff, except above cause it doesn't involve custome side gears or anything, the splines apparently fit i, no neck down to the shafts, better axle materials, greater steering angle, only the housing is modified, and my housings are already pretty modified anyways.
I am looking to a future situation where there is less downtime for maintenance and more time for me to just get out and enjoy the scenery wheel with some mates, do the odd small backyard adventure or something, maybe even take the family wheeling. (OH yeah, i have no family)

ROFL
Look at Camo, he spent US $10k on an axle and he doesn't compete, is it overboard? was he breaking 35 spline Dana 60s? (He never had one) SO WTF did he upgrade for? cause he wants to be king of the castle. So do I, I like having cool new shiat. I wouldnt mind a D60 frontend, but I hardly think I'll ever afford one, let alone use it, as I'm a grasswheeler. And I like my rear axle, not too wide, plenty strong, CHEAP, parts availability, CHEAP, need I say parts availability, and discs, full floater, already got the airlocker.....
Maybe its cause im dreamer, anyways I gotta go.
Peace out dudes

Thanks dude, the tyres measure 42" high and 15" wide, they are on custom 15" x 10" wheels, granted i did the custom bit myself and being young its not a real good job, but I have never claimed to be an engineer, or even good at this, I'm a cheap student, and when I built it I was a cheap teenager. As I get older I expect my talents will increase as well as my knowledge and the quality of my work....
HELL thats unlike me to say:
IM THE FAWKIN BEST, I AM KING OF THE CASTLE WORSHIP ME!! and i know it looks good, its as good as nannas in tights
