same as BJ. 35s look really small.
im now going coils. and dropping it 2 inches. 4 inch lift is much nicer. can still run 36s with heaps of room to spare. if the tyres rub, cut the lip off the guards.

How are you going to do the coil conversion? 4 link, 5 link , 80series gear or do you have another plan

I recon coils are the way to go. I just need to work out a way to do it for the cost of a carton and with no tool's

i wish you the best of luck with that deal
im going with 80 series gear. but with the arms flipped upside down so no bits hang under the axle. they flex good enough and are easy to get bits for. handling is more important to me than flex. thats why i went with them and not a 5 link (plus cost is a bonus).
im only doing the front for now. front half of 80 series chassis and bent 80 housing cost $350, tough dog shocks $480 a pair, dobinson springs $200, plus a few other things (you could get cheaper bits, but i got the things i wanted to put on) im paying someone else to do it so thats gonna be about $1000 in labour. might work out a bit cheaper.
gonna leave the rear SOA, take another leaf out and add a tramp bar.

on the topic of paying the fines and risking it etc for a SOA,
i think you missing the bigger picture to be more concerned about. What happens if you crash your truck into a bentley?? simply put, if its not legal on the roads, your not insured, and the pricks wont pay you a brass razoo. maybe im too stoned to think straight.

Mick, thats the biggest most important reason this big girly Hmm/soft rooster won't be doing it to his truck. Apart from the fact that it is such an obvious modification, and sure, some cops wouldnt realise it is SOA but some would, there is the insurance element and quite frankly you would have to be a moron to drive anything uninsured these days. Thanks for reassuring me that the decision not to SOA is a wise one and not a sign of homosexuality or impotence.

i was more thinkin on just using the springs and diffs.
as u say toyotas come stock with SOA so therefore havent
moved anything to lift the truck.
probably difficult to persuade QLD tranport otherwise.

when i walked into the wrecker, i asked how much for all the bits (housing front half chassis). they wanted 450-500.
but got total 4wd to get em for me and they were 350
