Here's where I am so far on my lift. This is to clear 33" swampers which are almost the same size as most 35" tyres (about 33.7").
Nice when they UNDERstate tyre size so you can tell the DoT "It's only 33"s"
I suppose it is 33" when they are bald....
Just FINISHED a suspension lift on the MAV shorty
It's an XLT wide wheel pack
here's what I found as stock (240,000kms)
Height at flares (Stock Desert Dueller 31" A/T) FL 867 FR 860 RL 853 RR 836mm
Height bottom of rim to flare FL 713 FR 708 RL 704 RR 686 mm
New height with EFS shocks and Dobinson Soft rated 2" springs:
FL 755 FR 750 RL 750 RR 745
Stock Shock length Front 325 compressed 517 extended
Stock Shock length Rear 410 compressed 600 extended
Rear Springs 483mm each (but different rate and height fitted)
Aftermarket suspension:
Dobinson 2" Coils FR 425 FL 415 Rear 483 mm each
EFS Shocks (same as TJM XGS) Front 383/600

Rear 410/660
EFS "Long rears" 435/710mm
Took the the rears back and asked for extra long as they have an extra long version. It's 2" longer 710mm. Not the 4" that would have looked sexy but something relatively practical that wouldnt need a huge bumpstop extension on 2" springs.
On target - I kept it under 1.9 metres with the swampers (1.87)....just.
Ride is really nice even on the swampers with NO swaybars, but still realtively controlled on the road.

Bogged...cheers for that....I sort of rad into the earlier posts that it may be a tad tight...I figure while buying a secons set of weekend rubber, I might as well go straight to 35's and run the 265 AT's around town.

Oh... just so people know the 1.9 limit is determined by the city carparks in Brisbane as I occasionally need my car for work. It's gonna be real close and may mean I just need normal 33"s and not the swampers.
Hence no 3" or 4" lift.
2.0 metres exactly for my garage.
So it aint gonna be the biggest GQ/Mav in the world but I like keeping it low for stability reasons. Plus I'm a shorta$$ so I'd need a stepladder if I go much higher.

I've got a 3 inch lift in my LWB GQ, it measures between 840 and 850mm between the bottom of a 15 inch rim and the guard, and i only get a very slight rubbing with 33x12.5x15 BFG muddies, i have also removed the mud flaps so they don't rub on the tyres.
Got a mate with a 2 inch spring lift, 2 inch body in a SWB GQ and has 35 inch claws which don't rub, and that's with no guard cut

mines got 3 inch susp,2 inch body , no mudflaps, toyota offset rims with 35 inch pedes. Only slight rubbing at rear of the rear guards.

Updated dimensions with new shocks and fronts in.
Test drive really good.
The swampers may be too extreme for my needs though and may look to swap them for some normal 33" muddies in the near future.
Note I needed a slight front guard trim but since I already had a dented one anyway I wasnt frightened of getting the grinder on it.
Very happy with the final result. Photos to follow tomorrow arvo... my digicam is crap for night shots even in the garage.
Didnt have batteries so didnt take intervening shots.

Not all of us have money trees mister, gotta wear out what youve got, and ya gotta buy what ya can afford, i was lucky i got the MTR's at the price i did, other wise id still be on 31's, one other thing, i dont have room to squeeze 35's in there at the moment withou guard cut or body lift, especially at full flex
Yeah trust me mate they came on the car other wise i'd still be runnin muddies aswell i reckon. so fair enough and yeah i do rub tyres on gaurds. your cars look good. i thought bogged had 33mtrs? Now 34 JT2's? There about as big as a 35!

I have a patrol with a 6.5 inche lift with 33inche mt claws they hit inside top edge of wheel arch and rip flares and mud flaps of

if i was u i would get some 32inch mongrel there only a remould they are cheap there almost the same as a simex centrepied tread and they work realy well 33s you cant get at the moment but they measure 34.5 if u have trouble finding a set let me know but there made by motorway

You guys heard of bumpstop adjustment??
Doesn't matter how high you lift it, if you don't adjust the bumpstops when fitting larger tyres you are always going to hit the guards.
Unless of course you a do a body lift, then the guards are actually moved further away from the wheel at full stuff.
Bumpstops are your friend
You will get plenty of flex with downtravel anyways.
Not a nissan but my Jeep has 3" spring, 2" body, slightly cut guards and 36's ...

MTR for road, JT's for weekends... best of both worlds.
then again, I'm thinking AT's for road... even better of both worlds.
