I asked this a few months ago, but here goes again. Has anyone tried bolting whole L/cruiser 80 or 100 series diffs in? The rears are bigger and should be stronger (?) than the hilux stuff. The pumpkins are offset to the right so should stop some of the issues with fitting the nissan rears with the centred diff. Similar sort of suspension set-up to the nissans so shouldn't be any harder than bolting one of those in. Maybe a nissan front (stronger than cruiser?) if its really that easy to bolt in and a 'cruiser rear so you get a full floater axle thats got a diff offset to the right. Nissan and toyota wheel stud pattern is the same so wheels won't be a problem.

Thoughts anyone...?

Anything can be done. They are wider, so you have to seal with the tyres sticking out further. You need to fab all the suspension mounts. You need to machine the pinion flanges. You still need to upgrade the CVs and axle shafts (with the Toys).

I think it is a case of if you need to ask if it can be done you don't have the skills to do it yourself - so I hope you have the $$$$ to pay someone to do it.

Of course you "CAN" do it, anything is possible. Do it and let us know how it goes - hope you have good fab skills or lots of $$$$ if you want to do it to a standard which can be mod-plated.

I think $$$$ for strength (and time involved to do the conversion) the toy diff centre conversion is the best option.

Just a suggestion but maybe some of the more knowledgable guys can put up a sticky about diff and driveline options as I've seen this topic pop up many times before and it would be handy for one thread with all the info.

Cheers Stuee

edit** I realize there are infinite options here but the more common ones like maxi, jac mac and arb combo's
