Location of events will be the limiting factor for a lot of 'potential' competitors.

At present it seems it is a SE QLD comp. I know it has to start somewhere but the cost to trailer to and from the event plus entry fee plus time off work etc will kill all but the QLD guys.

Just my thoughts at the moment (they may change dramatically should I move to Brisbane :D )

But, I don't understand why you aren't including a stock class in your events also?

That is a really good idea!

However, we are limited by man power, time, VENUES and of course the all mighty Dollar$$$$

We are really focused on promoting the TOP-END of the sport as there is nothing there at the moment (this event will be a few levels above any other event, so it won't be easy)!!!

We also believe that there are a LOT of events out there for the Stock - semi stock classes, events such as ASCC, Logan night runs and i am sure there are a lot down south that cater for this class.

To run three classes and to set stages for all the classes would take us months to organise and many many hands to run it.

We are totally focused on making this series the HARDEST and most PROFESSIONALLY run event in Australia, to over burden us with another class could quite simply make it to hard to even get anything started. Then we would have nothing at all!

At this stage I think it is suitable to be held in Brisbane as that is where the majority of competitors are.

The event will be held state wide eventually or close to? Good to see it will be expanding so quickly, will encourage alot more people to seriously start thinking about being a part of it.

It is an excellent opportunity but would be even more attractive for competitors if they not only had their buggy container paid for but also their own accomodation...ect as part of the championship prize, $ is always an issue one way or another. I think there will be alot of sponsorship and media interest eventually seeing as this has done so well in the states.

This is great news for Australian Rockcrawling sport, I will certainly be attending the events in support. Im sure we are going to see many new doors open up after this.

Good work !

Guys i am sure you can appriciate what we are trying to do!

At the moment YES all the events are held up and around this area. Sam, Ruff and myself realise that this is a MAJOR issue and as such we have had many long talks about how and where we can hold an event outside of this area!

We are really limited at the moment by a number of factors, some we have control over and some we do not!

As everyone know INSURANCE is the biggest issue we face when holding an event outside a dedicated 4WD PARK. As there are next to none around Sydney and Melbourne this is a MAJOR concern. To get past this problem and to use Private or Crown land we need to have adequate insurance for EVERYONE, thats Competitors, spectators, officials, organisors and of course the Land holders. Now it is all well and good to say "take the risk" but why should we! We have young families, Jobs and business's to look after, so getting sued for not having adequate insurance is the last thing we want. So if it meens that we have to base ourselves (FOR THE TIME BEEN) from these parks UNTIL we are FINANCIAL viable to pay for insurance than so be it!

The Terrain is the next biggest issue! I am sure that there are MANY places around that have good rock, but we need to be close to the US standards (or as close as possible) it is doable and very achievable. If you are outside of QLD and Northern NSW and you have some good areas THAT ARE WILLING to hold an event please let us know. Take a video camera and film the area and send it up to one of us!

Sam has already spoken to TWO connections in NSW in regards to running events close to SYDNEY, both are willing and both have the knowledge to help us out! But the above mentioned concerns will slow us down until we are established!!

Another factor when using a property that is not set up for 4WD's and taking large numbers of People is the amenities and facilities!!! TTC was around before it was what it is today, one of there biggest cost is things like Toilets, water, and open space! This all cost money!

Sorry to rable on but we have put a heap of time, research and effort into this and this is the only way we can make it happen. Its better than nothing! Like the saying goes "it won't happen over night, but it will happen". Meaning that although it is primarily based in QLD at the moment it will branch out to other areas! Like i said a SYDNEY comp/s is already in the plans!

We will also be using a payment system like what Sprint cars used when they started. We are yet to finalise the details but basically the guys from Brissy will pay say $500.00 entry fee and this will then be paid to the guys travelling the further distances, we know its not huge but hey we have to start somewhere and its better than NOTHING!

Over the short time in this sport i have seen that there are a lot of GUNNA's (gunna do this and gunna do that) well now is the time for the DOER's to take over and actually do something! We KNOW we cannot make a series to cater for everyone, but we are certainly going in the right dirrection.

WITH THE SUPPORT OF ALL THOSE THAT ARE KEEN TO SEE THE SPORT GROW, I AM SURE WE ALL CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!

Victoria does not = soft,
, i could name 10 other guys that are in the same situation as me, that have buggy type cars, yet cant compete in anything, because none of the competitions down here cater for us.
eg. Cheezy(though he could probly claim the trip up there, on his Tax)

No one said anything about only Males can compete in this sport. You are obviously keen on the sport why not push Ringo out of the drivers seat and have a go yourself. You never know it could just well be you that is Traveling to the US in 2006 to represent Australia. There are a few Girls allready Running the US series and im sure they could easily hand it to me

Maybe talk with some off the transport companies about transporters (like the PAC Performance and the like do for Jamboree!) Ive heard that the rates aren't to shabby!
Also hire a bus for drivers and crews!

With the price of flights between major cities now being quite affordable it may be opportune to get groups together to transport rigs and then the competitors can fly up to Brissie. People will always help out with rides to the event, I think ASCC had a transport sponsor for their Townsville rounds, it may be possible to achieve something similar.

Q rock was hounded to run a production class, so we did. we had no entries in this class which didnt look good for the sponsors of the class. Not to mention all of the time an effort that went into the organisation of tracks to suit these vehicles

if i were to build something along the lines of Rod's tractor, what class would it be in? Legends?
Would it be worth starting form an old jeep chasis, cutting the fark out of it, tube everywhere but follow the old ines of where the body used to be and compete in modified? But then i'd have to run leaf springs if that's what the jeep came out with.
Maybe a Bundeera chasis would be a better starting block? (coils)

I gather that a vehicle does not need to be road registered to compete in any of the classes for WE Rock?

Also, how are these events going to be publicised? Is 4wdtv going to be on board? How about Channel 10 Sports Tonight? RPM? Is there someone solely in charge of publicity?
