I am assuming the 4 grand included the turbo as well? I think ill go top mount, cheaper, less plumbing/swearing/rigmarole, and i cant really see there being a benefit big enough in a front mount over a top mount to justify all of this! Its not like i am running 20psi anyway :D

That was 4000 for turbo, intercooler and fitting, including putting on dyno before and after.

Had to go and find paperwork so I could make sure.
ARB Albury. $4010. 1/98. Bit longer ago than I thought. So it might have gone up a bit since then

Before, 37.5 KW, 2425 N
After, 56.5 KW, 3350 N

Still no powerhouse but up 50% & 38%
Probably should give it a bit more of a tweak ;)

Because there would be no heat exchange if the air going through the cooler is the same temp as the ambient air outside.

Does an intercooler (with turbo) lower the intake air temp to lower than outside air temp? Or is it just lower than the (non intercooled) turbo-heated air?

My diesel loves cold mornings and night runs but on hot days it really drags it's feet. I would be great if it was always breathing sub-20degree air...

Since the outside air is what is cooling the intake air (in an air-air IC), the IC will never cool the intake air to or below the outside air temp.

Yeah man i was going to say, 4 grand for an intercooler is over the top, together with the turbo sounds about right.
