I have tried on several occasions to call & email Kaos, but I have had no response from either forms of correspondence.

Not that I am shit canning them publically, just I have had a hard time getting formation from this company.

Guys, Know I am opeing up an old post but am still interested in an outcome re this particular topic.

I two had been emailing Kaos 4x4 unsucessfully with no reply and it seems that they subscribe to an email relay list that sees my Bigpuddle address as an email relay, hence drop my message in the bit bucket.

So I did something very unique the other day... the telephone.... so I called them.

Spoke to Hamish, obviously the top dog there who sounded very obliging and helpful. Indicated that he could sell me the Isuzu kit for $1550 + $50 freight. He does not have the kits in stock like 4WDUSA have (also rang them) and indicated probably a 2 week turn around from the states. They had only sold one set in the past but it seems that the guy that bought it was very happy with the purchase.

I am in the situation where I have to do something with my suspension as it is shot so.. if they can do it for the price above I am considering going with it!

By the way, when I spoke to the chap at 4WDUSA he indicated that the new upper arms supply an increased wheel travel as well as height due to their shape.

My only hesitation now is the engineering report required to make it legal in NSW.

So before I purchase it.. has there been anyone else out there that has gone with it yet?? And if so did they have any trouble with the engineering report side of things??

Cheers

Nev62,

The pricing I was quoted was AUS$ from Kaos 4WD. No duty incured!

Regardless, due to the fact that the whole rear shackle issue is a no go in NSW, I am now looking at standard 2" upgrades from either Rancho ($$$$) or possibly Ironman (for $1K less that Rancho).

I seriosly wanted to go the Calmini kit but in consistansies from everyone made me chicken out of the whole thing. If anyone has better sugestions pls let me know.

Yours beaten and depressed

been years since I've been here. You can pretty much forget the calmini stuff. I was one of the first in Oz to do a 3" lift on a frumpterra and another ex owner and I nearly became ditributors until we found out there was a lot of stuff that would need changing due to RHD/LHD differences.

Yopu can get 3" with a combination of ranchos and kings. Speak to kings in regards to what a guy that went by MIB on the board had in his. I'd point you to all the write up's I had but there not online anymore.

We used to have our own group under OzZuZu and had around 50 members, even had a few get togethers.

Most of us have moved on but I'm considering building a MU for a buggy.

Gday CJbrad,
Was just reading a few posts regarding Calmini gear and I was interested in getting the upper control arms for my 98 R9 Rodeo dual cab.
Until I read your post :?

Were there any issues with the upper control arms for a right hand drive?

Apparently they will raise the front and increase wheel travel a bit without having to wind up the torsion bars to total stiffness.
This sounds like a good thing for a Rodeo.

I already have 50mm (approx) lift medium rate rear leaves ready to go in.

Got any handy info for me?

Cheers
