hilux adjustable diff locator
Moderators: toaddog, Elmo, DUDELUX
G´day from Austria, my name´s Michael, i´m new at the board!
Let me give you a short empiric report about the adjustable diff locator (rancho).
My Lux (92´ doublecab) is standing on stonger springs (genuine Toyota).
Spring lift in front is 2", about 4" in rear, and the front leaves at the drivers side were also saging (about 1"). I ordered the diff locator directly from "Down Under" (not available in Europe) for AU$180 (incl. shipping/taxes).
The installation:
The first bolt could only be taken out by force, because of the enourmos spanning. The further de-installation and the re-installation of the new torque rod was easy. Only the re-establishment of the correct angle of the cardan shaft/diff should be considered. Fortunately the leaves were not too much worn out.
The result:
The steering wheel stands straight again, more travel for the front axle, no surprises when you step on the brake pedal
I never repented the installation of this part.
Regards
Michael
