Disc Brake conversion
FWIW. I used Subaru front callipers with the handbrake attached. I fitted a Willwood prop valve, but it would still lock up the rear first, even with the prop valve fully front biased.
I then fitted a Subaru master cylinder and it was all good. The master cyl. is built for four wheel discs and must have some bias built in.
Luigi.

It's better to have LIVED for a day than to have EXISTED for a hundred years.
So Luigi, you if I understand this right you have put Subaru front brakes in the rear of your zuk? and there was a handbrake on them? I'm looking into this for my vit now. What type subaru was that?
I also have some more options to think about, Suzuki Swift GTI, Ford Sierra Cosworth. I think the biggest problem will be fitting the callipers properly, and aligning them correct. wouldn't someone be keen on doing a write up on this with the hand brake build in the callipers off course

I've been running pintara (may be same as skyline?) rear disc calipers onto sierra front discs, on rear of mine for a while. I have not had any biasing issues. It may be that rear calipers from one car work best on rear of another as thats where they were designed to go??? Or maybe its my 1.0litre no power boost system??? I had to remove the the valve thing, that holds slight pressure needed for drums, on the rear brakelines, as they were catching a little. I haven't connected the hand brake to the rear yet, but I will in the end. My centre hand brake is failing again.
I can't give to many details, as its not all my work or design. Major bits were done by Joey of SR20 powered zook fame.

Yep, grave digging.
Christova - how did u remove the residual valve thingo. i belive this is the thing on a WT near the fuel filter setup. Mine are doing same as yours are slight drag noise can be heard
ca18escort or someone - is this the valve near the chassis rail under the steering column? and will this mod work on a WT sierra style?
I have a brake bias valve - wilwood style one now but have been searching also.

On my 1.0 litre it is at the master cylinder, in behind where the line screws in. Its a light spring with a bit of plastic on the end. Spring closes off the line just before all pressure is released. It just pulled out.nicbeer wrote:Yep, grave digging.

My rear brakes are the one towards front.
