Before you start talk to an engineer, see what motors he will pass.
Also speak to the insurance people, Ive heard here before, some wont insure conversions with "Chevs". regardless of what they are..

you would have to look at sizes, but a sitec turbo??? I don't know dimension etc, but parts would be easy to get and you could prolly pick up a local engine out of a wrecked truck

Trade the 4.2 on a 4.8 and supercharge it. In my experience engine conversions are never 100% successful.

So does anyone like Marks make adaptors for these and has anyone wacked an Isuzu donk in a Patrol?

I had thoughts on the Cummins awhile back but couldn't find and technical info on it.
People here are saying go for it and one has said it wont fit.
Of all of the Hotshotter stuff I have read on US sites the Cummins gets a great rap in general of the big three GM,Dodge,Ford.
But I would entertain a 7.3 if it fitted in a 80 it would fit in a GU.
The 6.5 with turbo has had reports of overheating for various reasons, but Matt who is still on here I think would be the best person to ask as he does them in townsville.
