Filled in holes in rear bar with aluminium chequer plate. Lights were about $70ish each I think?
Pity doing that is illegal.... because whenever im following a 4by I look where the brake lights SHOULD BLOODY BE instead of the shitty low bar mount position.
Whoever amended the ADR for that one has got to be one of the biggest road accident causing dickheads in Australia.

Especially when a car like a Ford Focus has higher rear lights than a Patrol.
And my GQ has these useless big brake light lenses which I cant use because there is nowhere to put a bulb. (Anyone got around this)

I was going to drill a hole and file it to the right size.

that ADR is in place so you can see the lights with out them being blocked by the spare on the back, from an angle.
the 80 series doesn't need them untill you put the spare on the back.

It's still gay.... they have recessed brake lights in the bar that are hard to see at some angles... and the vibrations in the rear bar kill globes too...

The LED globes that fit in the existing holders are between $13 & $17 each

Yeah, I have tried a set of LED globes.
But now I have an ARB rear bar the light globes are pointing sideways (like a typical trailer light) and the LED's only work straight on.
Worked well prior to this and you get that "instant on" effect. If they come down in price I will get some solid LED lights for the bar because they are waterproof and very tough. A lot of the comp trucks are running them now. I am running LED flashers up front but you need a resistor in-line to draw ebough current for the flasher unit to go off.
I figure with LED bulb they are supposed to last a very long time, so you could seal up your lights with silicon to prevent dust and water getting in.

Replacement light units must have an ADR or "E" mark to be legal.

Chrispy knew of some mob out at Minto that was doing the three light knock offs for $30 a side. Something to do with needing to change a wire.
