just if you want higher final speed change the 5th gear, otherwise i don't see any improvment.

Any idea which Charade gearbox matches the Feroza? Over here we got 1litre carby and turbo; 1.3l plus 1.5l four cylinder- and I know overseas there was a 3 cylinder 1l EFI turbo, plus the Detomaso 1.6l.... I've got a feeling there were diesel models overseas too (have seen radiators at wreckers from G102 diesels).

If you do alot of driving on rough roads I would leave the swaybar connected. If you remove it you'll find that your front tyres will rub on the plastic on the inner guards.
Just my 2 cents worth
i had the swaybar on and still had some problems with this. after a few 25 ft long jumps, they started to peel off so i just yanked em out.
no more problems. now i have the sway bar and still no worries on rubbing. you can always just let it rub, or just take em out. BUT i do suggest taking the swaybar off.... really improves the ride/handling/flexing of the front end.
Your a crazy man
No wonder why the tyres still rubbed with that sort of punishment

I posted this up ages ago about the gearbox ratios.
Go and have a read and do the calculations

Check these links out for the answers u want and then do the calculations

I don't think swapping gears is going to help much.
Going by all those Charade and Applause ratios- the Feroza already the lowest number for fifh (ie. highest gear ratio) and also the highest number for first (ie. lowest gear ratio). So you can't use them for getting a lower ratio for first, or a higher for fifth to reduce revs.
Unless I'm misinterpreting the info?
hmmm.... the two lists contradict each other for fifth for the Feroza too...

the info on the fifth gear is wrong on this page
it is 0.865 if you check the service manual.
ok so now the question is
how much would it cost to get the fifth gear changed to one from a charade
0.707 ratio ?

did the calculations using that site
using 225x70 tyres
for 5th gear
0.865 100km/h @ 3500rpm
0.707 100km/h @ 2850rpm
thats seems to be a pretty good fix

Think I'd prefer 3,500 rpm. Better torque there, especially for a 1300kg brick being powered by only a 1.6; the fuel economy could also be worse.

what about the terios manual gearbox?? is it interchangable?
it's first gear ratio is 4.059. could be good for rock crawling with 235 tires...
