Cheers guys, im going to take my bars and get em checked out to see how much it would cost to get them fitted without the body lift, it definately seems to be swinging the way of leaving them out. There is one guy in the know that i wanna show em too first but i think ill leave em out. Might look into engineering, mainly for peace of mind also!! Cheers everone who gave me advice, feel free to forward any further advice if you want im keen to hear as many opinions as possible, these forums are so handy for a novice like me!! lol

some guard cutting is required, and being a ute helps with threar, but a mate runs a 5 linki front with 2" spacers and 37" maxxis crawlers and with 6" dobinsom coils and gaurd trim they fit with room to spare

Body lift back in or not..help me decide.

Thanks , trying to be the voice of reason rather than a whinger.

I am not into the rock hopping set but I admire the vehicles in the correct environment. I feel that this hobby has pushed the fourby standards over the edge where you will lose the support of the public and the authorities. Already the QLD members are feeling the heat from the RTA and the police. The more you push the envelope the more they will come down on you. Personally I just have deep concerns when owners do unsafe to their cars.

PS I drive a Mav not a VT.

No worries Nazi, just playing with ya!! I understand what your saying but when it comes down to it there are plenty more dangerous things than modified 4x4's. Not that im against it at all as i just owned one but high powered imports in my mind would be a far greater concern for the coppers on our roads!!! Although isn't it funny how most fatal high speed crashes you see are just standard commodores or falcons, maybe it has something to do with the capabilities of the car?? Sorry goin off on a tangent now!! Ive never been pulled over yet and i dont even have bars on it!! The worst that has happened was a cop pulled over at the front of myy place when i was out the front just to have a look!!! he said he's been checking it out as he drove past and has been waiting to see a for sale sign on it!! ( i sometimes sell cars out the front, yes im one of those neighbours! lol) Maybe cops are better in SA.

No worries, I reckon life must be a bit slower over in South Aussie so it is natural for the cops to reflect the pace of society. QLD has a lot of modded fourbies and maybe that's why they are getting hit.

The thing is, not all cops have the knowledge. Some are tyre kickers and others are very keen to get down and get dirty.

PS a neighbour of mine is one and is investigating a Rangie that was lifted and just fell over going around a highway bend. A person died.

Chances are if it fell over going around a corner he must have been going some speed!! mine has less body roll now than before!!

And QLD is the place where everyone talks slowly.....you all still have mullets up thre!!! lol :finger:

your right about some cops not knowing anything, it's too bad to hear about the guy in the rangie though

yes a custom try and cutting the life out of your front guards will give you the same as bru21 and plenty of room....... ;) :D

back to the body lift........ when you said you were happy with 35's the you said 37's maybe when some cheapies appear.......therefore you will have 37's in near future.....and design lift accordingly and do you want to cut gaurds?
