Ok, because I have seen a bigger one at repco now that looks the same as the big Bushranger which comes in a tool box with all the fittings as well as a punture repair kit for $200 I think.

That is the one I have and ?I think it is differnt top the bushranger but will look closer. I got mine for $170 coz they had crimped the end of the hose and put a hole in it right next to the fitting. Whil he put the card throught I borrowed a stanly knife and fixed it in time to sign the CC receipt....he was relly pissed off at that

Reseated a tyre a couple of weekends ago (35") with no probs

After waiting ages yesterday for my ARB comp. to pump my JT2's from 15 to 40, I'm looking at a new compressor just for tyres. I'll use the ARB for the lockers.

Hey before you buy check out the Autobarn one.
Its bigger than the bushranger. Comes in a good case too.

I ahve permenantly mounted the Max-Air under the bonnet and it runs the lockers + I ran a hose to a fitting to pump up the tyres. So far it has been great with no problems. There are cheap versions of the bushranger but someone did check out the components and they are cheap & wont last as long.

Anyone know what the cost of the Endless Air unit is as I am looking at putting one of these on my Rangie?

Last time I looked it was about $300-400 for the compressor an another $360 for teh brackets. Then I had togo find a belt that would fit. This was for a GQ. But have since looked at this setup and I dont think it will fit with my PTO setup. But have since found another way.

They make the max air compressors and have larger units available.

ARB Compressor, are slow but reliable and run air lockers comfortable.

If you in hurry to pump tyres all the time don't bother getting it

When I mounted the maxair for the lockers, I did not even install a tank. The lockers only need a tiny amount of stored air at 100psi to operate so the length of hose installed from the compressor to the fitting on the bull bar was enough.
The only other think you need is a pressure switch which you can get from ARB for around $25 and install this anywhere in the line.

Why not get a engine driven compressor like this one not a bad price

I guess it depends on your expected use

For me I figure I only run small tyres 31's and maybe 33's in the future and dont do any really remote trips where a product failure can be a huge issue so I figure the Big W one does the job is quicker than the arb at filling tyres

At 1/3 of the price of the bushranger and having a 12months warranty I figure if it breaks over the next 12months I get another at no cost if it breaks at 13 + months I still have 3 to 4 years service before I could have bought the bushranger one

I have no illusions that these are the quality of the others but they work well enough and fill my tyres in an accpetable time unlike previous compressors in this price range

If I get air lockers then I would get an arb and use both (arb for lockers and the big w for tyres)

The only real complaint about the big w is that the hose and fittings are crap but that is simple enough to replace

If I did a lot of remote area trips are had to reley on the compressor then buy a quality one but for weekend and day trips around major centres this does me fine

I reckon twin tongue compressor would be the go in my opinion, veery reliable

i just bought a hi flow tjm compressor today (its actually a chassis tech DC5000 compressor rebadged) for $330. Not a bad price i think. It pumps 3cfm at 100% duty cycle (no down time), 3/4 horse power motor, i cant wait to see how fast it will inflate the tires now. Its a beast!

SASS, do they have a 24V model as well?

not at tjm but look on there web site www.chassistech.com they do make a 24 volt and LARGER ones aswell!!!

Are you sure those specs are right? According to this site it only pumps 1.23cfm : http://www.webbsautosport.com.au/compressors.htm

I spoke to Glenn at airride yesterday and he told me that even though the dc5000 was cheap $250 ,it had a lot of things that were appealing to me and that wern't mentioned by the supplier uch as it had to be away from the elements(dust,water and the like)also it wasn't an oil less compressor so you had to manually oil it wich meant unhooking the tank and the lines and also it had to be hooked sraight to the battery via a battery cable not wire .So after all this discussion I brought tha Viair 400 he said that matched to a 20L tank it would do all i want and more.BTW i asked weather or not 100% duty cycle was the go and he said that,they are great but slower so i figured that if this will run 33% duty 20mins straight that will do me.At $ 365 including loom and some fittings with a 5 year manufacters quality warrenty too my door i said send it.

Seem to be the same compressors in the pics on both sites???

The Maxair works out to be 2.54 CFM. Did the price you paid include hoses and fittings etc?
